Quang Nam spends 41 billion VND to support people in difficult circumstances

Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 2810/QD-UBND dated November 22, 2024 on allocating 41 billion VND to 17 localities to support other disadvantaged people in the province according to the provisions of Resolution No. 43/2021/NQ-HDND and Resolution No. 29/2024/NQ-HDND of the Provincial People's Council - 2024.

Specifically, other disadvantaged people in 17 districts, cities and towns that are supported include: Hoi An, Tam Ky, Dien Ban, Dai Loc, Duy Xuyen, Que Son, Thang Binh, Phu Ninh, Nui Thanh, Nong Son, Hiep Duc, Tien Phuoc, Dong Giang, Nam Giang, Tay Giang, Phuoc Son, and Bac Tra My.

In the period of 2021-2023, Quang Nam will issue 157,785 free health insurance cards to the poor, with a budget of more than 111.5 billion VND; issue free health insurance cards to more than 272,000 ethnic minorities, people living in areas with especially difficult socio -economic conditions, island communes, and island districts, with a budget of more than 202 billion VND.

The province has provided monthly social allowances to 296,150 social protection beneficiaries, with a budget of VND 1,924 billion; supported 42,422 households and individuals to take care of social protection beneficiaries, with a budget of VND 181 billion; and issued health insurance cards to 226,760 social protection beneficiaries, with a budget of VND 173 billion.

Notably, the monthly subsidy policy for people in difficult circumstances was added by the People's Council of Quang Nam province to the group of beneficiaries of social protection policies. In 2022 and 2023, the province provided monthly social subsidies to 11,346 beneficiaries, with a budget of VND 34.4 billion; purchased health insurance cards for 6,509 beneficiaries, with a budget of VND 3.8 billion, and supported funeral expenses for 506 beneficiaries, with a budget of VND 3.6 billion.

Also through this policy, it has helped many people in difficult circumstances, especially people with serious illnesses, children under three years old from poor households, and the elderly from 60 to 80 years old to overcome difficulties, improve their lives, and contribute to the good implementation of the province's social security policy.
