Quang Ngai warns of a series of landslide-prone locations threatening hundreds of households

QNgTV- Concerned about landslides threatening people's lives and property, Quang Ngai province has issued warnings about a series of vulnerable points in mountainous communes, asking local authorities to take measures to ensure people's safety.

A mountain crack in Rók Mét village (Đắk Plô commune) threatens the safety of property and lives of dozens of people living below.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province Nguyen Hoang Giang signed an urgent dispatch, requesting departments, branches and localities to immediately deploy measures to respond to storms and heavy rains, especially evacuating people from riverside areas, low-lying areas and mountain slopes with high risk of landslides to ensure the safety of people's lives and property. In particular, the head of the Quang Ngai provincial government emphasized the work of evacuating people to safe places, especially residential areas located in areas with high risk of landslides.

According to statistics and reviews by localities, currently in Quang Ngai province there are 301 points at risk of landslides, flash floods, concentrated in 49 communes in hilly and mountainous areas, with the risk of affecting more than 4,000 households with over 16,000 people. The Provincial Civil Defense Command has requested localities with landslide risk points to arrange enough human resources, materials, equipment, and accommodation for people in the worst case scenario.
