Colonel PHAM NGOC TAN, Political Commissar of Armored Brigade 416, Military Region 9:
More than just a bonus
Along with disseminating and thoroughly implementing the Regulation on Extraordinary Bonuses, we also focus on orienting officers and soldiers to see that this is not simply a material bonus but also a great concern of the Party, State and Army; helping them feel honored and responsible, building the right motivation to strive. The comrades were all very happy, excited and posted positive articles on social networks, attracting many comments expressing their agreement. I think that the regulation clearly stipulates the standards, authority and 4 levels of bonuses according to the level of spreading achievements, which is very appropriate, and will certainly create a clear motivation to encourage officers and soldiers to strive. Along with Circular No. 95/2024/TT-BQP dated November 11, 2024 of the Minister of National Defense, this regulation continues to encourage soldiers to have more determination in the face of difficulties and challenges, and be ready to face dangers.
The 416th Armored Brigade is stationed in the southwestern border area, with both mountains and rivers. In recent years, in addition to performing regular training and combat readiness tasks, the unit has also carried out many unexpected tasks such as participating in forest fire fighting, building dikes to prevent floods, helping people harvest rice and crops to escape floods, moving houses out of dangerous flood areas, etc. Therefore, the Unexpected Bonus Regulation is of special importance, creating favorable conditions for commanders in the process of leading, directing, organizing and implementing tasks.

Lieutenant Colonel TRAN THUC, Political Commissar of the 83rd Naval Engineering Brigade:
Competition will be more enthusiastic and effective
After listening to and thoroughly understanding the contents of the Regulation on extraordinary bonuses, the cadres and soldiers of the entire unit, especially those who regularly perform extraordinary tasks, are very excited, feel secure in their work and have a better mindset. The bonus regulation is very clear; the bonus level has a large difference, especially for individuals with outstanding achievements; the bonus rate is reasonable, appropriate and only individuals with truly outstanding achievements are considered for rewards, which will certainly encourage and motivate all soldiers to strive, break through and excel in performing extraordinary tasks, which are not predicted in advance, take place outside of the plan, outside of regular tasks; contribute to promoting the emulation movement to become more and more in-depth, substantial and effective.

The units of the 83rd Naval Engineering Brigade operate in a large area, and also carry out special tasks when ordered, such as helping people overcome the consequences of natural disasters, storms, floods, and sea erosion... Therefore, we require the commanders of the units, especially those located far away, to regularly update, thoroughly understand, disseminate, and fully implement the rights and policies of cadres, civil servants, and soldiers according to regulations. During the implementation process, any comrade who has any problems or concerns about the regime or policy, we will seriously consider and ensure the fairest and most accurate implementation. We will conduct the evaluation and reward according to the correct order, procedures, and principles of the Special Bonus Regulations to ensure fairness, accuracy, and create motivation and confidence for other comrades to strive to excel in performing their tasks.

Lieutenant Colonel TRAN VAN TU, Political Commissar of Regiment 19, Division 968, Military Region 4:
Strong competitive drive
Immediately after receiving Decision No. 1285/QD-BQP, the commander of Regiment 19 organized a thorough dissemination of the contents to 100% of officers and soldiers in the entire unit. The brothers were very excited and actively learned, researched, and discussed. The regulations on extraordinary bonuses are very specific; the bonus level is commensurate with achievements, the appropriate bonus rate will create a strong competitive motivation to encourage officers and soldiers, especially those receiving salaries, to overcome all difficulties and excellently complete extraordinary tasks in difficult conditions with many challenges. We will monitor, evaluate, review, and propose timely and correct rewards, ensuring democracy, objectivity, the right person, the right job, contributing to motivating officers and soldiers to always be ready and determined to successfully complete all assigned tasks.
As a fully-equipped unit, in addition to its central political mission of training and combat readiness, Regiment 19 is also frequently entrusted by superiors with many unexpected tasks in the three southern provinces of Military Region 4. Every year, when storms occur, officers and soldiers of the unit are always present in difficult and difficult places to support the people and local authorities, in order to minimize damage.

Major TRAN DUC HAI, Squadron Leader of Squadron 1, Regiment 930, Division 372, Air Defense - Air Force:
The harder it is, the harder you have to try.
I have fully grasped the content of the Extraordinary Bonus Regulations. My teammates and I are very happy and excited. This regulation is very practical and will certainly motivate us to make more efforts to complete all tasks well. During my work, I remember most the time I participated in the rescue of the QNa-1152 canoe belonging to Phuong Dong Tourism Company Limited that sank in the Cua Dai sea, Hoi An city, Quang Nam province on the afternoon of February 26, 2022. Although the time was short, the Mi-171 helicopter and the rescue force quickly prepared and mobilized to the area where the canoe had an accident. At that time, there was heavy rain, strong winds, and a lot of fog, requiring the flight crew to have good flying skills, accurately predict the flight plan, approach the area of the victims and handle the situation calmly and flexibly to bring the victims onto the plane as quickly as possible and ensure safety. During the rescue operation, the crew must keep the aircraft stable and well balanced, while closely coordinating with the main pilot, navigator, air mechanics and ground forces to effectively carry out the mission.
In my opinion, performing a mission is both a responsibility and an honor for a soldier. Every mission has its own advantages and disadvantages. If we have a good mindset, high sense of responsibility, and determination to complete it, then difficulties will turn into advantages. Moreover, only by facing and overcoming difficulties and challenges can we know our own capabilities.

Senior Lieutenant TA DUC QUY, Captain of Company 5, Battalion 2, Regiment 174, Division 316, Military Region 2:
Don't worry about the loss, it's better.
My teammates and I learned about the Extraordinary Bonus Regulations right after the Minister of National Defense signed and issued them. This is the recognition and concern of leaders at all levels for the efforts of individuals; encouraging and requiring soldiers to constantly strive to study and practice to always be ready to receive and excellently complete all tasks; creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere in the unit. I still remember, when receiving the task of helping people overcome the consequences of floods caused by storm No. 3 in Ha Hoa town, Ha Hoa district, Phu Tho province, our unit quickly mobilized to carry out. At that time, although everything had been prepared for the wedding ceremony, I felt that this was an urgent task, I needed to put aside personal matters to work with the unit to take care of the people, so I reported to my superiors and both families to postpone the wedding ceremony and focus on the task. In my opinion, to always be ready to receive and complete tasks, whether sudden or regular, soldiers need to clearly define their thoughts, responsibilities, and assigned tasks, and be ready to "go when ordered". When receiving a task, always try your best with the highest responsibility and determination, without worrying, calculating gains and losses, or expecting to be rewarded or praised.

Senior Lieutenant PHAN MINH LAN, Assistant of the Criminal Investigation Department, Drug and Crime Prevention Department, Hue City Border Guard:
Promote the spirit of serving the people
I always have a clear ideology, steadfast goals and strive to contribute a small part to the common tasks of the entire force. In my opinion, to always be ready to receive and complete all tasks well, soldiers need to practice a strong political stance, a high sense of responsibility, and dare to face difficulties and challenges. Regular or unexpected tasks are opportunities for each person to practice their will, skills, and style and affirm the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers and the spirit of serving the people. With additional rewards when performing unexpected tasks, I will try harder in all aspects of work. I remember in 2023, the unit implemented a professional plan to arrest a subject who illegally traded drugs at the Thuan An Port Border Guard Station. This subject's circumstances were very difficult when his mother passed away, his father had an accident and had to sell lottery tickets to make a living, he had 3 young children, and he was only 20 years old and was the main breadwinner in the family. However, due to lack of education and guidance, this subject fell into the path of law violations at a very young age. That image made me feel sad and more clearly see my responsibility in contributing with the unit and the whole society to propagate and educate the law to help young people know how to move towards the right thing and stay away from social evils.
