The scale of Da Nang's economy in 2023 is estimated to reach more than 134,247 billion VND.

Accordingly, the total regional product (GRDP) in 2023 is estimated to increase by 2.58% compared to 2022, the overall growth rate for the year is lower than the average growth rate of 5.51%/year in the period 2021-2023.

Of the 2.58% growth rate of the entire economy in 2023, the service sector increased by 4.10%, contributing 2.85 percentage points to the overall GRDP growth; the forestry and fishery sector increased by 1.19%, contributing 0.02 points; product taxes minus product subsidies increased by 1.18%, contributing 0.11 points.

The industrial and construction sector alone decreased by 2.05%, reducing 0.4 points, of which the industrial sector increased slightly by 0.33% and the construction sector continued to grow by negative 8.36% compared to 2022.

The scale of the city's economy in 2023 at current prices is estimated to reach more than 134,247 billion VND, an expansion of 9,728 billion VND compared to 2022. Of which, the service sector expanded by 8,923 billion VND; the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector expanded by 127 billion VND; the industrial and construction sector contracted by 116 billion VND (of which, the industrial sector alone increased by 413 billion VND, the construction sector decreased by 529 billion VND).

In terms of structure in the economic scale in 2023, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector accounts for 1.95%; the industry and construction sector accounts for 18.50%; the service sector accounts for 70.34%; product taxes account for 9.21% of the total GRDP.

In terms of economic growth rate in 2023, Da Nang ranked 54th out of 63 localities; 4th out of 5 provinces and cities in the Central key economic region; 13th out of 14 provinces and cities in the North Central and Central Coast regions and the lowest in the block of 5 centrally-run cities.

In terms of GRDP scale, Da Nang continues to maintain its leading position among the 5 localities in the Central Key Economic Region; 3rd out of 14 provinces and cities in the North Central and Central Coast regions; 4th out of 5 centrally-run cities and 17th out of 63 localities nationwide.

According to the report, in 2023, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue are estimated to reach VND 127,000 billion, up 16.8% compared to 2022; the number of guests served by accommodation establishments is estimated to reach 7.94 million, up 98.4%.

The consumer price index (CPI) in Da Nang city in December 2023 decreased by 0.38% compared to the previous month, and increased by 2.65% compared to the same period last year. On average, the CPI in 2023 increased by 5.08% compared to 2022, higher than the 4.32% increase in 2022 and the highest in the past 10 years, since 2014.

Total import and export turnover of goods is estimated at 3,015 million USD, down 16.2% compared to 2022; of which, export of goods is estimated at 1,864 million USD, down 11.6%; import of goods is estimated at 1,151 million USD, down 22.7%.

Total state budget revenue in the area as of December 20, 2023 reached VND 19,715 billion, down 14.8% over the same period in 2022, of which central budget revenue reached VND 5,150 billion and local budget revenue reached VND 14,565 billion.

Total state budget expenditure in the area as of December 20, 2023 is estimated to reach VND 25,035 billion, up 5.0% over the same period in 2022. Of which, development investment expenditure is VND 8,585 billion, up 1.0%; regular expenditure is VND 16,408 billion, up 6.9% over the same period in 2022.

Total social investment capital in 2023 is estimated at VND 30,962 billion, down 16.8% compared to 2022, of which the State sector is estimated at VND 9,844 billion, up 14.1%; non-State capital is VND 18,030 billion, down 21.9%; the sector with foreign direct investment is VND 3,088 billion, equal to 56.2% of 2022.
