Acting President meets with Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association

On the afternoon of March 25, at the Presidential Palace, Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan met and encouraged delegates of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association on the occasion of the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2024) and Youth Month 2024.

After more than 30 years of formation and development, from the initial seeds with the establishment of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Club - the predecessor of the Association and the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs movement, to date, the Young Entrepreneurs Association has been established in 63 provinces and cities with a total of nearly 19,000 members. Member enterprises are generating annual revenue of over 40 billion USD (contributing more than 10% of the country's GDP) and creating jobs for more than 5 million workers.

During that journey, many generations of leaders and members of the Association have joined hands to build a large movement, creating many values and activities with important marks such as: Red Star Award, Vietnam Golden Star Award, Program to honor outstanding young entrepreneurs, Vietnam Private Economic Forum. Not only pioneering in activities to support entrepreneurs and businesses, the Association is also always creative and flexible in mobilizing resources and organizing meaningful social security activities such as: Deploying rice ATMs, F0 ATMs to fight the epidemic... to support people during the COVID-19 epidemic; donating to support victims of Agent Orange/dioxin; sponsoring poor children without shelter; supporting people with natural disasters, floods... with hundreds of billions of VND in donations each year, leaving a good impression on the image of the Association and young entrepreneurs in the social community.

At the meeting, the leaders of the Young Entrepreneurs Association as well as the delegates recommended that the Party and State leaders have a drastic policy in reducing loan interest rates and have solutions to create favorable conditions for businesses to access loan capital. In addition, persistently and resolutely remove barriers and create the most favorable investment and business environment for businesses to develop...

Appreciating the enthusiastic, responsible and youthful comments of the delegates of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association, Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan was delighted with the strong development of the Association. With more than 30 years of formation and development, the Association's network has covered 63 provinces and cities, present in 2 economic groups, 15 affiliated Clubs with nearly 19,000 members. The Association has constantly innovated in content and form of operation, contributing to advising on perfecting institutions and policies for the Party and State.

The Association has launched many movements and campaigns that are increasingly meaningful not only for young entrepreneurs but also have a widespread meaning in the social community. The Young Entrepreneurs Association also focuses on implementing international cooperation programs, affirming the position and image of young Vietnamese entrepreneurs to the business community and enterprises in the region and the world. The Association has encouraged members to be good at production and business, to strive to enrich themselves and their families, to contribute to their homeland and country, and at the same time to carry out social activities, charity, and gratitude.

The Acting President affirmed that these practical actions demonstrate the efforts to rise up and the community responsibility of young entrepreneurs, the responsibility towards the country and society. These are the continuous efforts of the leaders as well as members of the Young Entrepreneurs Association from the central to local levels, and are also the right and appropriate way of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Vietnam Youth Federation, and ministries and branches in orienting, supporting and helping the Young Entrepreneurs Association.

Referring to the goal of our country becoming a developed country with high income by 2045, Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan said that to achieve that goal, we must constantly improve our economic potential, national defense and security potential, maintain a peaceful and stable environment for national development, and build and protect the Fatherland. In that common goal, the Party and State also set a target for the business community to strive to have at least 2 million enterprises by 2030.

Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan hopes that the Vietnamese young business community will continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the resolutions and directives of the Party and State on enterprises and entrepreneurs, focusing on Resolution No. 41 dated October 10, 2023 of the Politburo on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new period. In addition, she requested the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, ministries and branches to continue to monitor and grasp the development of young entrepreneurs, including the activities of the Young Entrepreneurs Association, to promptly propose and remove difficulties and obstacles in the operation of the Association.

Regarding the Young Entrepreneurs Association, the Acting President hopes that the Association will continue to promote the achievements it has made in the past time, continue to innovate in content and form of activities to keep up with the trends of the world and the times, and be suitable with the development practices of the country.

The Acting President told young entrepreneurs that they need to determine their roles and responsibilities for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland in the current period, both being pioneers in economic development and being pillars of the country, the responsibility and mission are extremely great. From there, the Acting President hopes that young entrepreneurs will continue to have aspirations in developing their careers, contributing, engaging in difficult tasks, creating their own paths, only then will our country have many breakthroughs for development...

In addition, the Acting President hopes that young entrepreneurs will continue to research, learn, grasp, and develop their thinking, capacity, and skills to keep up with the trends of the times and the requirements of national development. At the same time, they will continue to practice and cultivate civic ethics, professional ethics, and form a modern and civilized production and business culture./.
