With the desire to inspire children to learn about national history and preserve traditional values, popularize historical knowledge for children, "A Brief History of Vietnam in Pictures" has a unique and new approach. The book is structured in a panorama format - symbolizing a historical flow. This form helps to condense a large amount of knowledge into 100 pages of picture books. The content is conveyed in concise but still evocative language, combined with the especially vivid illustrations of artist Ta Huy Long, making it easy for children to read, easy to access, understand and love Vietnamese history more.

“When we started writing the text, we tried to summarize history in the most concise, easy-to-understand, and memorable way for children. We tried to summarize important historical milestones in the country's history. There are things that the text cannot fully convey, so the pictures will be like a powerful companion, helping children understand more about the things we want to tell them,” author Hieu Minh shared about the process of building the book.
