Millions of Vietnamese people are turning their eyes to the historic Ba Dinh Square in the solemn parade celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2, taking place tomorrow morning.

Among them, there are outstanding female students from universities, representing the enthusiastic young generation, ready to put aside their studies to fulfill their sacred mission.

Nguyen Ngoc Thao Ny, a student at the University of Economics and Law, and Nguyen Nhu Ngoc, a student at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City National University, were honored to be part of the Southern Female Guerrilla Team.

For nearly 4 months, they have undergone a rigorous training process under the harsh sun of Hanoi , with a determined and proud spirit.

Put aside the lecture hall, conquer new challenges

Nguyen Ngoc Thao Ny, a third-year student majoring in Civil Law at the University of Economics and Law, did not hesitate to decide to put a semester on hold to participate in this special journey.

For her, this is not only a mission but also a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Thao Ny shared: "My parents said that this life only happens once, when the opportunity comes, you have to take it, there won't be a second time."

It was that encouragement that gave the female student the strength to decide to go to Hanoi.

Although she had never experienced a military environment, she overcame the initial difficulties of harsh weather and high intensity training.

Thao Ny used to have leg pain due to muscle strain but she still tried every day, encouraging herself not to give up.

Thao Ny's training journey also included invaluable encouragement from her family. The girl from Ho Chi Minh City was extremely surprised and touched when she learned that her father had traveled all the way to the National Military Training Center 4 in Hanoi to visit her.

For Thao Ny, her father's appearance was not just a simple visit. Her father, a former soldier of Uncle Ho, had experienced bombs and bullets to fight for peace.

The father's silent sacrifice has become a shining example, giving Thao Ny strength. She believes that the steps on the training ground are not only a responsibility but also a source of pride, a continuation of the family tradition.

It was her father's companionship and understanding that helped Thao Ny complete her mission with all the enthusiasm and resilience of a young person.

Sharing the same decision, Nguyen Nhu Ngoc, a student majoring in International Studies at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, also temporarily stopped studying to devote herself to the task.

When receiving the recruitment notice from Ho Chi Minh City National University, Nhu Ngoc was very hesitant because this was a completely new task. However, with the absolute support of her family, especially her parents, she boldly registered.

The girl from Vinh Long said that although her parents could not go to Hanoi to cheer her on in person, they were still "awakening" and looking forward to seeing their daughter on TV tomorrow.

Proud to carry the proud footsteps of "The Brave Miss Ba"

Nearly 4 months of training was a difficult journey but also filled with memorable memories. Both Thao Ny and Nhu Ngoc shared that Hanoi's weather was a big challenge, with some days being nearly 40 degrees, but that did not deter them.

"We have overcome everything together to get to where we are today," affirmed Nhu Ngoc.

Every time they pass Ba Dinh Square or Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, pride wells up in the hearts of the two female students.

Thao Ny could not hide her emotions when she was warmly welcomed by Hanoi people for the first time and given small gifts. She felt great to be a piece in the big picture of the country on this important day.

For Nhu Ngoc, the image of veterans waving flags on the side of the road to welcome them has become an unforgettable memory.

"Every time we see you, we are very touched and grateful," she said.

It was those moments that helped both of them understand more deeply the value of independence and peace. They felt they had a responsibility to live a useful life and contribute to be worthy of the sacrifices of previous generations.

Tomorrow, Thao Ny and Nhu Ngoc, along with other female students, will carry the pride and enthusiasm of youth, taking beautiful, proud strides, representing the resilient "Ba Ba warriors" of the past, contributing to a heroic and meaningful parade.

The two female students felt quite nervous, but were determined to complete the task well.

Regarding the study plan after completing the sacred A80 mission, both Thao Ny and Nhu Ngoc have clear study plans to make up for a semester of suspension.

Thao Ny shared: "In the near future, I will have to register for more subjects and study harder to keep up with my friends. I will try harder to complete my studies well."

For her, the discipline and perseverance she has cultivated over the past four months will be valuable assets to help her overcome all challenges in her studies.

Likewise, Nhu Ngoc also said that she will redouble her efforts to keep up with her studies. Although the road ahead is still full of hardships, both believe that this special experience has equipped them with courage and determination, not only to march beautifully but also to become excellent citizens, useful to society.

In order for female students like Thao Ny and Nhu Ngoc to be able to fully devote themselves to their sacred mission, member universities of Ho Chi Minh City National University have created the best conditions. During the training period, students are allowed to reserve their study results for this semester.
