On the afternoon of October 29, Dr. Tran Do Nhan, Director of Duy Xuyen Medical Center, said that at noon the same day, the center was supported with food, drinking water, and basic medicine, and was no longer in shortage like the day before.
According to Dr. Nhan, at around 7 p.m. on October 27, floodwaters began to inundate the center's campus, and surrounding roads were so deeply inundated that they could not be moved. The center also lost power and had to run on generators. Because they could not go outside, family members and patients were temporarily short of food and drinking water.

Doctor Nhan said that under these conditions, the center only provides drinking water, instant noodles, sausages... and cannot cook rice or porridge to serve more than 200 patients and their families.
In the flood-stricken conditions, according to Dr. Nhan, the unit is trying to focus on treating patients. Since October 27, no serious patients have been transferred to a higher level. If necessary, we will also use a canoe to take the patient out,” Dr. Nhan said.

By noon on October 29, many philanthropists and authorities had provided basic food, rice, and water to serve more than 200 patients and their families.
Military Region 5 also brought in gasoline to run generators to serve patient treatment.
On the afternoon of October 29, Mr. Nguyen Van Khanh, Chairman of Nam Phuoc Commune People's Committee, said that currently Duy Xuyen Medical Center's basic needs have been met, gasoline for generators is fully available, food and drinking water have also been brought by benefactors and functional forces.
Mr. Khanh said that on October 28, food and drinking water were not delivered in time because the commune was flooded, many places were isolated, and the forces could not deliver them in time.
"Taking advantage of this situation, some websites posted false information, causing confusion among people in other places. The commune government will work with representatives of these websites to rectify the situation," said Mr. Khanh.
