The cooperation focuses on improving scientific research capacity, medical management, and innovative applied research in disease prevention, medical examination and treatment, and community health care in Vietnam; and contributing innovative experiences to the world.
The cooperation between Oxford University and Tam Anh is even more meaningful when it is implemented at a historical stage of Vietnam when entering an era of strong development, rapid economic growth, epidemiological shift from responding to infectious diseases to enhancing prevention of non-communicable diseases, chronic diseases, application of advanced technology in medical examination, treatment and health care for people is given a very high priority in the spirit of Resolution No. 72 of the Politburo .
It is expected that in December 2025, the Tam Anh Research Institute and Oxford University will organize the first three intensive training courses for scientists and health managers in Vietnam.
The experts who teach and guide directly are professors and scientists from Oxford University. The training content focuses on improving management capacity, helping Vietnamese medical researchers and managers access international standard scientific research methods and the world's leading modern data analysis system.
In addition, the two sides will conduct joint research on new solutions and applications in improving medical examination and treatment capacity, focusing on diseases that are global challenges such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, stroke, etc.
The official website of the “Tam Anh Oxford Partnership Program” (TOP) will be located on the Oxford website (ox.ac.uk) and the Tam Anh Research Institute (Tamri.vn). It is expected that this website will be launched in early November 2025.

Specialist Doctor Phuong Le Tri, Executive Director of Tam Anh Research Institute, said: “ To reach official and specific cooperation agreements with the world's leading prestigious university such as Oxford, Tam Anh had to prepare a modern, large-scale infrastructure system, a systematic working process, and scientific research; a team of qualified staff to work with professors and experts from Oxford in many fields.”
Dr. Phuong Le Tri also shared the goal of learning from Oxford's experiences to build an international-class medical training and research center in Vietnam.
To kick off this cooperation, in January 2025, Tam Anh Research Institute signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Center for Global Health Research, Nuffield School of Medicine - Oxford University, International Health and Tropical Medicine Group.

In 2024, Tam Anh Research Institute became the first clinical trial site outside the US, conducting a phase 2A clinical trial of the oral immunotherapy drug RBS2418 in cancer treatment, in parallel with American scientists and clinicians at UCSF and Stanford./.
