Viettel Construction and its 30-year journey of connection and building a new life.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - For Viettel Construction, the past three decades have not only been a journey of building sustainable structures, but also a journey of development alongside the community.

It all started with a desire to connect.

In 1995, when many mountainous and island regions were still "information blind spots," Viettel's engineering soldiers carried cables, traversing mountains and forests to erect stations and lay transmission lines. Their most important goal was to bring connectivity to all regions, from mountainous areas to islands, so that calls between loved ones would no longer be interrupted.

Thirty years later, Viettel Construction has built more than 10,000 BTS stations, providing nationwide coverage, to make connectivity an equal right for all citizens.

Beyond simply installing telecommunications infrastructure, Viettel Construction completes thousands of civil engineering projects across the country each year. These projects are not only architecturally significant but also exemplify the philosophy that infrastructure must serve people, wherever they may be.

Despite numerous structures being damaged by storms, Viettel Construction's workforce is always on hand to promptly address the problems. Every rainy season, when communication is paralyzed and all lines of communication are broken, they set out with equipment and supplies to restore service.

Typhoon Yagi in 2024 is the clearest example: more than 8,000 officials, engineers, and workers of Viettel Construction worked through the night to maintain the signal.

Among them, the story of Nguyen Duc Tai touched the hearts of millions. Amidst the landslide, he rescued a 7-year-old girl from the mud and rocks, then returned to help his teammates restore the severed cable line. He simply said: "Saving people is a blessing, but the station must remain operational so that people can still make phone calls."

Building schools, constructing homes - shaping the future.

Viettel Construction not only erects stations and lays cables, but also builds trust and sows hope. Over the past three decades, hundreds of schools, health centers, and cultural centers have been built by the hands and hearts of these construction soldiers.

In Dien Bien, Trung Thu Kindergarten – constructed by Viettel Construction – replaced its makeshift bamboo and thatch classrooms with sturdy roofs. In Quang Binh, after severe storms, their team of engineers restored the school in just a few weeks.

Along with community projects, Viettel Construction also expands its service ecosystem to individual households: from turnkey house construction, elevators, solar power, security cameras to smart home solutions.

Over 13,000 rooftop solar power projects implemented by Viettel Construction have brought sustainable lighting to tens of thousands of households, schools, and businesses nationwide.

Ms. Le Thi Hoa from Nghe An shared: “When the power goes out, the whole neighborhood is plunged into darkness, but my house is still lit thanks to solar power. My children can still study, and I save hundreds of thousands of dong on electricity bills every month.” From those solar panels on the windy hills, Viettel Construction is contributing to writing a new chapter in the nation's greening journey.

30 years growing up with the community

From the first fiber optic cables spanning the country, BTS stations on mountaintops, solar-powered roofs in remote villages, to well-equipped schools for children in mountainous areas – every footprint left by Viettel Construction carries the spirit of service.

A representative from Viettel Construction affirmed that over the past 30 years, the brand has grown not only through revenue, base stations, and concrete projects, but also through its connection with the community. And it is the community, with its love, trust, and gratitude, that has nurtured Viettel Construction into a sustainable brand.

“30 Years of Connection – When Viettel Construction Brand Grows with the Community” – is not just a commemorative theme, but a reminder of the journey so far and a commitment to the journey ahead: to continue building, to continue connecting, to continue sharing, so that the community will always be the foundation and the place where Viettel Construction grows.

The company has been awarded the title of Hero of Labor, and has received the Emulation Flag from the Government and the Ministry of National Defense for many consecutive years. In the business world, Viettel Construction is among the "Top 50 Best Listed Companies in Vietnam", "Top 10 Leading Construction Contractors", and holds the number 1 position in the list of Best Places to Work in Vietnam (construction/architecture industry).

Awards such as the Vietnam Digital Awards, Make in Vietnam, and National Brand are testament to the stature of a brand that constantly innovates and develops.

"But more than all those awards, the trust of the community is the greatest reward, because that is where Viettel Construction has dedicated its heart and soul for the past 30 years, and it is also the motivation for us to continue building for the next 30 years," a representative of Viettel Construction said.
