Viettel Construction and the 30-year journey of connection and building a new life

(Dan Tri) - For Viettel Construction, the past three decades have not only been a journey of building sustainable projects, but also a journey of developing with the community.

Starting from the desire to connect

In 1995, when many mountainous and island areas were still “blank” information areas, Viettel construction soldiers carried cables, crossed mountains and forests to set up stations and lay transmission lines. They determined the most important goal was to bring connections to all areas, from mountainous areas to islands, so that calls between relatives would no longer be interrupted.

30 years later, Viettel Construction has built more than 10,000 BTS stations, covering the whole country, to connect the equal rights of all people.

Not only building telecommunication waves, Viettel Construction also completes thousands of civil works across the country every year. These works not only have architectural significance, but also demonstrate the philosophy: infrastructure must serve people, wherever they are.

Although many structures were damaged by storms, Viettel Construction forces were always present in time to fix the problem. Every storm season, when information was paralyzed, when all communication lines were broken, they set out with equipment and materials to restore the signal.

Typhoon Yagi in 2024 is the clearest proof: more than 8,000 officers, engineers, and workers of Viettel Construction stayed up all night to save the waves.

Among them, the story of Mr. Nguyen Duc Tai has touched the hearts of millions of people. In the middle of a landslide, he saved a 7-year-old girl from the flow of rocks and soil, then returned with his teammates to restore the broken cable line. He simply said: "It is a joy to save people, but the station must survive so that people can still call."

Building schools, building houses - creating the future

Viettel Construction not only builds stations and pulls cables, but also builds trust and sows hope. Over the past three decades, hundreds of schools, medical stations, and cultural houses have been built by the hands and hearts of construction soldiers.

In Dien Bien, the Trung Thu Kindergarten – built by Viettel Construction – replaced its makeshift bamboo classrooms with solid roofs. In Quang Binh, after severe storms, their team of engineers restored the school in just a few weeks.

Along with community projects, Viettel Construction also expands its service ecosystem to each household: from complete house construction, elevators, solar power, security cameras to smart home solutions.

More than 13,000 rooftop solar power projects deployed by Viettel Construction have brought sustainable light to tens of thousands of households, schools, and businesses across the country.

Ms. Le Thi Hoa in Nghe An shared: “The whole neighborhood was dark when there was a power outage, but my house was still lit thanks to solar power. My children still studied, saving hundreds of thousands of VND in electricity bills every month.” From those solar panels in the middle of the windy hill, Viettel Construction is contributing to writing a new chapter in the journey of greening the country.

30 years growing up with the community

From the first fiber optic cables across the country, BTS stations on high mountain tops, solar power roofs in remote villages, to spacious schools for children in mountainous areas – every footprint Viettel Construction leaves behind carries the spirit of service.

Viettel Construction representative affirmed that over the past 30 years, the brand has grown not only through revenue, radio stations, and concrete works, but also through its connection with the community. And it is the community, with love, trust, and gratitude, that has nurtured Viettel Construction to become a sustainable brand.

In the market, Viettel Construction is in the "Top 50 best listed companies in Vietnam", "Top 10 leading construction contractors", and holds the No. 1 position in the list of Best Workplaces in Vietnam (construction/architecture industry).

Awards such as Vietnam Digital Awards, Make in Vietnam, National Brand... are proof of the stature of a brand that is always innovating to develop.
