Launching high-quality train on Hanoi

Vietnam Railways Corporation held the launching ceremony of the high-quality train Hanoi - Da Nang SE19/SE20. This is one of the products to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Railways industry (October 21, 1946 - October 21, 2023).

The demand for train travel of domestic and international passengers is increasing, Vietnam Railway Corporation has assigned the task to Hanoi and Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company to coordinate in researching and building high-quality transport products to put into operation on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam Railways.

Delegates cut the ribbon to officially launch the high-quality train on the Hanoi - Da Nang route.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh - Deputy General Director of Hanoi Railway Transport Joint Stock Company said: After researching and evaluating the train cars in operation, the Company has built a high-quality train brand SE19/SE20 with its own identity and increased aesthetics to attract passengers on the Hanoi - Da Nang route.

After 3 months of upgrading and renovation, on October 20, 2023, the high-quality train Hanoi - Da Nang SE19/20 was launched with newly painted carriages and investment in replacing blankets, pillowcases and redecorating the carriage walls... the sleeping area. For passenger carriages, new hot water tanks, ceramic sanitary equipment in the washroom and toilets... bring a clean and luxurious feeling.

Along with the renovation of equipment and service quality, on-train services at Hanoi station and some major stations, from October 20, 2023, VIP waiting rooms will also be put into operation to serve train passengers.

“Passengers traveling on SE19/SE20 or some other high-quality trains will be arranged a waiting room and have their own entrance to the station and to board the train. Along with that, the services of picking up and dropping off passengers at home will continue to be added and upgraded to meet the needs of tourists" - Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh informed.

Recognizing and appreciating the high-quality SE19/SE20 train, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Canh - Vice Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises affirmed that the results achieved today by the railway industry are the result of the tireless efforts of the leadership and staff of Vietnam Railways Corporation.

The Corporation has actively promoted inter-provincial transport activities to many provinces and cities with the motto "Bringing the border gate deep into the mainland". In addition, the Corporation has implemented positive movements, aiming to build environmental landscapes, create highlights for station areas, both sides of the railway, workplaces... In the long term, the plan is to form "the longest flower road in Vietnam".

Mr. Hoang Gia Khanh - General Director of Vietnam Railways Corporation said: Along with investing in equipment, Vietnam Railways Corporation also selects a team of train attendants (train captains, service staff) who are experienced, have good appearance, skills, communication experience and especially can communicate in English. The uniform model is also designed specifically for this train staff.

The crew (train captain, service staff) of the high-quality train SE19/SE20 are also carefully selected.

Regarding services, to increase convenience for passengers, the Corporation has deployed a sales App through scanning QR codes on trains. When wanting to order regional products in 34 provinces and cities or on-train products served throughout the journey, passengers can use their smartphones to scan the QR code to access the link of the sales website. On this page, passengers can freely choose the desired regional specialties to enjoy right on the train or bring home as gifts. For now, Vietnam Railways Corporation will keep the ticket prices the same as they are now.

Another service that the railway industry also deployed for passengers at Hanoi station during this time is motorbike rental service. Passengers, especially tourists, when arriving or getting off at Hanoi station can rent motorbikes at the station gate to visit the scenic spots in the capital with very simple procedures.

Previously, this service was deployed by the railway industry at Hai Phong station and received positive response from tourists. It is expected that in the near future, the railway industry will deploy this service widely at major stations to serve passengers.

The launch of the SE19/SE20 train and a number of new services is one of the solutions to improve service quality that the railway industry has been and will continue to implement in the coming time to bring passengers interesting experiences on Vietnam's railway journeys.
