The Zen Treatise , consisting of three volumes: Upper, Middle, and Lower, published in 1971, is a classic work on Zen, demonstrating the intersection of Eastern and Western philosophical thoughts, summarized in detail and fully by Zen master Daisetz Teitaro Suzuki about Zen schools as well as famous Zen masters. The newly released work Zen Treatise is attractive in its new synthesis of content, highlighting and illuminating the diversity of methods and philosophies in the art of Zen.
According to Venerable Thich Hue Dao, the book's editor: "With a spirit of inquiry and criticism, translator Duong Ngoc Dung has translated very carefully, reviewed and compared seriously and elaborately, and at the same time presented in a modern, approachable and easy-to-read style. Thereby, helping readers have the opportunity to further research issues related to meditation to have a peaceful and happy life now and here."
It is known that Zen master Daisetz Teitaro Suzuki is a famous scholar who contributed greatly to the spread of Zen Buddhism to the West and around the world . Born into a Samurai family (Japan), he published many works on Zen and Buddhism. He married Beatrice Lane (in 1911) - an American woman. This wife wholeheartedly supported him in translating and interpreting. Suzuki is most famous for his Zen Treatise , which contributed most importantly to the revival of Zen Buddhism in both practice and scholarship.
Translator, Dr. Duong Ngoc Dung added: "With this book series on Zen , I want to provide a "critical" translation of Suzuki's thoughts, as if to speak for my thoughts on Zen over the past 50 years. The criticisms are not meant to lower the value of the book series, but boldly point out serious mistakes to help make the work more perfect, contributing to the development of wisdom."
"Meditation will play an extremely important role in the future when humans live with artificial intelligence and robots. Even though they can replace almost all of our work, they still cannot meditate for humans," translator Duong Ngoc Dung affirmed.
The discussion session on Meditation - Finding balance in life with translator, Dr. Duong Ngoc Dung and MC - Master Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc brings a lot of knowledge about meditation in many different aspects and opens up more knowledge about meditation around the world.
