(BGDT) - Summer vacation is a time for children to relax after a long time of studying. On this occasion, many parents are interested in letting their children participate in sports activities and exercise. This helps them develop both physically and mentally, ready to enter a new school year.
Most parents want their children to have the opportunity to exercise and participate in healthy recreational activities during the summer vacation. To meet this need, many gyms, sports centers, private educational institutions, and children's cultural houses open gifted classes for children from 4 to 15 years old.

For about two years now, the Tan Yen District Community Football Center has been a trusted address for parents to send their children who have a passion for football. Each year, the center trains 150-200 students in the area, aged 6 to 15. In each course, the center organizes an exchange tournament with clubs and youth football training centers in and outside the province to help students compete, strengthen their playing style, improve life skills, and social communication skills.
It is known that from these tournaments, some young players have had the opportunity to participate in professional playgrounds. Mr. Phan Van Tuan, in Viet Lap commune (Tan Yen) said: "My son is shy but loves playing football. Since participating in the course, he has become bolder, more confident, more sociable with everyone, and has reduced the time he spends playing on his phone and watching TV."
Teaching children to swim not only equips them with skills to prevent drowning but also trains their bodies to be flexible and resilient, promoting height growth. These days, swimming pools in the city and other localities are always crowded. Since the end of May, the swimming pool of the Provincial Children's Cultural House has had more than 200 children registered to learn to swim. Unlike many swimming pools in the province, this swimming pool does not accept service guests, so children can freely learn and play.
Some experienced parents shared that when choosing a place to enroll their children for physical training, they often pay attention to the facilities, qualified teachers, and especially a permanent lifeguard team. Ms. Nguyen Thi Nu, Le Loi Ward (Bac Giang City) said: "Last year, I enrolled my child in a basic swimming course. This year, I continued to enroll my child in an advanced freestyle swimming course. This not only strengthens swimming techniques but also helps my child relax and improve his health."
Since the beginning of the year, the provincial youth union at all levels has built 62 playgrounds for children, worth nearly 900 million VND. Play equipment such as swings, slides, playhouses, and seesaws have all been solidly installed, ensuring safety and aesthetics. |
Currently, the Provincial Children's Cultural House is organizing 12 gifted classes, including many sports such as: Taekwondo, badminton, chess, dance sport, swimming. According to Mr. Chu Thuong Thang, Director of the Provincial Children's Cultural House, to ensure quality, the curriculum is compiled, teaching methods are innovated to suit the age, creating excitement for children; facilities are also invested, upgraded, and periodically inspected. Thanks to that, every day, more than 200 children participate in activities here.
With the responsibility of creating a playground for children and students during the summer vacation, Bac Giang City Youth Union has developed a detailed plan and directed grassroots unions to organize summer activities.
For example, Tran Nguyen Han Ward Youth Union, right after the end of the school year, youth union members in residential groups and residential areas gathered teenagers and children to participate in summer art performances. At the same time, they opened football, basketball, badminton clubs... so that children could have a healthy playground and interact with people who shared the same interests. In addition, the ward Youth Union organized swimming and football tournaments for teenagers and children, attracting more than 100 children to participate. This is a new and creative point of the grassroots youth union units in the whole province.
It is known that before the summer vacation, the Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Union Council directed and guided the districts, city youth unions and affiliated youth unions to organize summer activities for children. At the same time, select and organize sports and life skills clubs; teach free swimming; train skills to prevent drowning and child injuries; build playgrounds for children in communes, wards and towns suitable to the local characteristics.
It is known that since the beginning of the year, the Youth Union at all levels in the province has built 62 playgrounds for children, worth nearly 900 million VND. Playground equipment such as swings, slides, multi-purpose houses, and seesaws are all solidly installed, ensuring safety and aesthetics. These projects are assigned to the Youth Union of communes and wards to manage and promptly repair when there are problems to ensure long-term use. Thereby, demonstrating the concern of the Youth Union in caring for the material and spiritual life of children; contributing to helping them develop comprehensively.
