Resident Evil Re:Verse, the highly anticipated multiplayer shooter, has shut down less than two years after its release. The game disappeared from Steam and other platforms on June 29, with a notice that it would no longer support both DLC (Downloadable Content) and new downloads.
Despite carrying the Resident Evil brand, Re:Verse was criticized for its monotonous gameplay, outdated graphics, and lack of tactical depth. On the final day of operation, only 96 players logged in - enough to make Capcom realize they were on the wrong track.
There was no farewell, no regrets, Re:Verse left as quietly as it was received. Many gamers consider this a "just for show" product by Capcom, trying to capitalize on the brand but lacking serious investment. This isn't the first time Capcom has failed with its Resident Evil multiplayer projects, from Umbrella Corps to Resistance.
Learning from experience, Capcom has adjusted the Resident Evil Requiem project back to the traditional survival-horror genre that made the brand famous. Dear readers, please watch more videos : Funny advertisement about Apple Intelligence Writing Tools
