The Portuguese star has been given a pay rise by Al-Nassr to keep him until he is 42, with a basic salary of £488,000 a day.

Cristiano Ronaldo also received a series of benefits to become the "dream ambassador" for wealthy Saudi Arabian bosses.

In addition to his £178 million/year salary, CR7 also received a £24.5 million signing bonus. The figure will increase to £38 million if he activates the second year of the contract.

An Al-Nassr official added that Ronaldo will be given a 15% stake in the team - worth around £33m.

If the 40-year-old striker wins the Golden Boot in the Saudi Pro League, he will receive a bonus of £4 million. If Al-Nassr wins the domestic championship, CR7 will pocket an additional £8 million.

Ronaldo and his family are also well taken care of. Al-Nassr provides 16 staff, including 3 drivers, 4 maids, 2 chefs, 3 gardeners and 4 bodyguards. All expenses are covered by the Saudi Arabian team.

In addition, CR7 also uses a private jet and receives a sponsorship contract from Saudi companies worth up to 60 million pounds.

An Al-Nassr insider shared: "The owners know that Ronaldo is the face of the tournament, attracting superstars and attention. So, they need to keep him at all costs.

Ronaldo is aware of that. Al-Nassr must cover CR7 with gold, giving him a lucrative contract, more benefits and bonuses than before.

Ronaldo's importance and presence is very important for the tournament. Al-Nassr knows that Ronaldo is the best ambassador - the one who will help them become more known on the international stage."
