On June 27, the People's Committee of Tuy Phuoc District (Binh Dinh Province) held an inauguration ceremony for the Hoc Cong Bridge project in Phuoc Thanh Commune. The project not only marks a step forward in the development of rural transport infrastructure but also realizes the long-standing dream of the people of Hoc Cong Hamlet - a place that used to be separated by the Ha Thanh River during the rainy season.
Previously, the local people's travel depended entirely on a temporary bamboo bridge built by the locals themselves. The bridge was about 150m long, had a narrow surface, a makeshift structure, and was often washed away during the heavy rains, isolating hundreds of households. The students' going to school and the locals' livelihood were always in a state of anxiety. Therefore, the construction of a solid bridge across Ha Thanh was something that had been expected for many years.

Deployed from the end of 2023, Hoc Cong Bridge is built with reinforced concrete, solid structure, more than 250m long with a 4m wide bridge deck, ensuring safe and sustainable traffic. The project comes with a system of roads at both ends of the bridge and synchronous auxiliary items such as protection, traffic signals, trees to create landscape. The investment cost is nearly 26 billion VND, mobilized from the budget of Binh Dinh province, Tuy Phuoc district budget and other legal sources.
Along with the main bridge, Tuy Phuoc district also expanded the road leading to the bridge with a length of more than 1km, connecting from National Highway 19C to Hoc Cong residential area, and planted trees on both sides, contributing to creating a new green, clean, beautiful rural landscape, serving sustainable socio -economic development.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Tuy Phuoc District People's Committee - Mr. Huynh Nam emphasized: "The investment in the construction of Hoc Cong bridge is not only a simple traffic project, but also a symbol of the transformation of a rural area that was once divided by natural conditions. From now on, the gentle Ha Thanh river is no longer a barrier, but becomes a connecting point - where agricultural trucks will run to the market, where children will go to school without worrying about floods. For the people of Hamlet 4, the dream of 'crossing the river' - a dream that seemed far away - has now officially become a reality".
“The project is one of the breakthrough tasks of Tuy Phuoc District Party Committee in socio-economic development, strengthening national defense and security and building the political system by 2025…”, said Mr. Huynh Nam.
The Chairman of Tuy Phuoc District People's Committee also emphasized that the project is the result of the synchronous participation of the entire political system, effectively implementing the policies of the District Party Committee and the District People's Committee on infrastructure development associated with new rural construction. At the same time, he expressed his deep gratitude to the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province, related departments, design consultants, supervisors, and contractors for their efforts to complete the project on schedule, in accordance with technical standards and ensuring aesthetics.

From today, the bridge not only connects the two banks but also opens the way for the Hoc Cong countryside to develop. The Hoc Cong Bridge coming into operation not only opens a new, safe traffic direction for the people, but also connects the local economy and society. Agricultural products trucks will no longer have to go far, children will be able to go to school conveniently, and people in Hamlet 4 will no longer be separated by water during the flood season. It is not only a bridge connecting the two banks, but also a bridge of hope, of sustainable development, bearing the mark of care and companionship between the government and the people.
