After storm No. 3, many forest owners sent initial damage figures. In Ha Long city, according to the assessment of the city's Economic Department, about 10,000 hectares of production forests had trees broken in half, collapsed or uprooted.
On September 9 and 10, Hoanh Bo Forestry One Member Co., Ltd. (Ha Long City) deployed forces to inspect and count the actual forest, which showed that more than 3,000 hectares of the Company's 1-10 year old planted forest were damaged, accounting for more than 80% of the unit's planted forest area. As of 5:00 p.m. on September 10, localities had sent initial statistics of forest damage in the whole province of nearly 45,500 hectares.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, for forest areas from 1 to 5 years old that are broken, people will almost lose everything and cannot recover; for forest areas over 5 years old, it can be recovered, the recovery rate is about 40% of the investment value.
Currently, some households have started to cut down and collect fallen trees to sell to purchasing facilities. However, the purchasing facilities are offering low prices or not purchasing due to the low quality of the wood. At the same time, these facilities are also suffering from damage to their facilities after the storm and are currently unable to operate.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development believes that the number of forest areas damaged by storm No. 3 will increase when localities in the province have accurate statistics. Along with that, the reforestation of forests by people after storm damage will increase the investment rate, due to the additional cost of clearing fallen trees to prepare the area for reforestation.
