The second quarter 2025 financial report of Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank ( Sacombank ) recorded a sharp decline in personnel. As of June 30, 2025, Sacombank had 15,900 employees, a decrease of 1,158 people compared to December 31, 2024.
However, total salary and allowance expenses for Sacombank employees increased slightly compared to the same period, at VND3,914 billion.
Specifically, the average income of Sacombank employees (including salary and allowances) in the first half of this year reached 41 million VND/person/month, a sharp increase of 8 million VND/person/month compared to the average income in 2024.
Thanks to that, Sacombank rose to second place in the banking system with the highest average employee income, just after Techcombank .
The average monthly income of Techcombank employees in the first half of this year was 43 million VND/person, a decrease of 10 million VND compared to the average income in the same period last year.
Thus, Techcombank and Sacombank are two banks that pay employees an average income of over 40 million VND/person/month.
Along with the sharp reduction in the number of employees in the first 6 months of the year, Sacombank also continuously announced the closure of transaction points. Sacombank has announced the closure of 11 transaction offices in the past 6 months.
However, this is still a bank with a wide network of transaction points across the country, with 109 branches and 426 transaction offices as of June 30, 2025.
In addition to Sacombank, Loc Phat Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank (LPBank) is also known as a bank that has taken strong measures in streamlining its human resources.
As of June 30, 2025, LPBank has 9,203 employees, a sharp decrease of 1,986 people compared to the end of 2024.
However, the number of LPBank transaction points remains the same, with 85 branches, 481 transaction offices and 512 points at the Post Office system. The number of LPBank transaction points is currently second only to Agribank.
