On November 22, after 5 days of intense negotiation, debate and persuasion since Sam Altman was suddenly fired from the startup he co-founded, OpenAI representatives announced that they had reached an agreement in principle, paving the way for Sam Altman's reinstatement at OpenAI.
Meanwhile, OpenAI's upcoming board of directors will see some significant changes. Former Salesforce CEO Bret Taylor, former U.S. Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, and Quora founder Adam D'Angelo have been selected as new board members. Bret Taylor will serve as chairman of the board.
Shortly after, on his personal page, Sam Altman posted a new share, with the content: “I love OpenAI and everything I have done over the past few days has been aimed at keeping the team’s mission alive. When I decided to join Microsoft on Sunday night, it was clear that it was the best path for me and the team. With the new board and Satya’s support, I look forward to returning to OpenAI and building on our strong partnership with Microsoft.”
