(CTT - Dong Nai) - In 2024, Dong Nai Art Theater will organize 300 performances to serve political tasks and serve people in and outside the province.
Along with bringing theater and art to the grassroots, the theater also regularly organizes many live and online performances at the unit, broadcast on Facebook channel, contributing to improving the cultural and spiritual life of the people.
Performing many plays and excerpts from reformed opera
Dong Nai Art Theater has recently organized many live and online performances and performances at grassroots cultural institutions to serve the people. Most of these performances focus on new cai luong plays and stage excerpts staged in 2024 such as: Comrades, Voice of Crying in the Night, Mr. Sau of Sac Forest, Love Forever, Blood Stained in Co To City...

In particular, Dong Nai Art Theater organized a free performance of the play Comrade at the unit's stage, serving officers, soldiers of the armed forces, youth union members and people of all walks of life; at the same time, organized the recording and broadcasting of the play on VTV1 channel.

Deputy Director of Dong Nai Art Theater Than Trong Bich Hanh said that proactively coordinating with units to organize a performance of reformed opera about Uncle Ho's soldiers during and after the war has great significance. Not only does the play convey the message of respecting and remembering the contributions of previous generations, but it also inspires viewers to take specific actions and deeds to continue contributing to their homeland and country.
Ms. Bich Hanh shared: “The play Comrade, excerpt of Mr. Sau in Sac forest, is about revolutionary war, it is very difficult to build on the cai luong stage because of the historical cuts. However, with the efforts of the director, artists, actors… it was performed in time to serve the people in and outside the province”.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Thai, Political Commissar of Brigade 972 under the Department of Transport, General Department of Logistics (Long Binh Tan Ward, Bien Hoa City) said that to celebrate major holidays, the Brigade organizes a variety of cultural and sports activities; cultural exchanges with units in the area to improve the cultural and spiritual life of officers and soldiers.
“To help officers and soldiers better understand the art of reformed opera as well as stories about soldiers, Brigade 972 coordinated with Dong Nai Art Theater to watch the play Comrades live at the theater. This is considered a political activity, fostering pride in comradeship, patriotism and national spirit,” said Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Thai.
A reformed opera with a seemingly dry and heavy revolutionary war theme has attracted the attention of a large audience, especially officers, soldiers of the armed forces and youth union members in the province.
Watching a cai luong play on stage for the first time, soldier Bui Minh Chien, Brigade 972, shared: “The artists sang and performed in a deep and impressive way, and the feeling was very close. Conveying the stories of soldiers from wartime to peacetime through cai luong art helped me understand more about the sacred “comradeship”. As a soldier, one must not forget the noble ideals to live up to the generations of ancestors who have fallen.”
Motivation for artists to pursue their career
Playing the role of Thanh in the play Comrade, artist Hoang Viet Trang said that for him this is a heavy role. Because up to now, he has participated in many roles but specializes in playing "one-dimensional" roles, "one-dimensional" personalities. However, with the role of Thanh, the personality has a combination of villainy and change, turning to goodness in each person.

“I am very happy and pleased to perform and serve the people. From the stage, I saw the smiles, the applause, and even the tears of the audience. That is the motivation for me and my fellow artists to continue to strive and contribute more good plays and roles” - said artist Hoang Viet Trang.
It can be said that Dong Nai stage at this time is extremely rich, constantly lit with many genres, from traditional opera, drama to music and dance programs. The plays have diverse themes, some are historical, some are about revolutionary war or contemporary society; there are tragedies, comedies... It is the dynamism, the change from the stage, the plays to the appropriate approach that has attracted many people to join hands to preserve the traditional art of the nation.
Besides the veteran artists who are loved by the audience, recently on the Dong Nai Cai Luong stage, there have been many young and enthusiastic artists, along with the gradual return of the audience, especially the young people, who have been bringing the expectation of a new "golden age" for the Dong Nai stage.
