After nearly 2 months of implementation, the contest attracted nearly 152,000 entries from about 900 units nationwide. More than 60% of online test takers achieved a fair level of understanding, 32% achieved a deep understanding of energy law.
The organizers said the large number of candidates and high level of access showed that young people are more interested in the issue of using electricity and energy reasonably, in the context of energy saving becoming a common requirement of society.
Director of the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion Nguyen Thi Lam Giang said the goal of the contest is not only to expand legal knowledge but also to help students realize the economic and environmental benefits of applying electricity-saving habits in personal and family life.
She emphasized that raising awareness among the younger generation is an important condition for forming sustainable energy consumption models.
The five finalist teams come from Hanoi University of Industry, Academy of Journalism and Communication, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, Electric Power University and University of Economics and Technology.
In three sections: talent, knowledge and situation handling, teams had to dramatize familiar electricity consumption situations such as using air conditioning in a home, operating equipment in a small business or managing energy in a rental building. This approach was considered by many viewers to make the law easier to understand than traditional propaganda.
According to Mr. Nguyen Phuong Tuan, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment, applying the law to familiar situations is an effective way to help young people clearly see their rights and responsibilities when using energy.
He commented that the competition has turned popularizing the law into a lively activity, suitable for students - the force that will create long-term changes in society's energy consumption behavior.
The jury, which included energy experts, lecturers and journalists, assessed the teams’ preparations quite thoroughly. Many of the entries were considered smart and practical, demonstrating the ability to approach the law in an applied manner.
Several situations of electricity usage in homes and businesses are clearly handled, helping the audience easily visualize how to comply with regulations in everyday life.
At the end of the competition, the team from the University of Economics and Industrial Technology won first prize. The Academy of Journalism and Communication received second prize. The University of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City won third prize.
