Arsenal extended their winning streak on their Asian tour with an impressive performance, beating Newcastle 3-2 at the Singapore National Stadium. It was the Gunners' second consecutive win, after beating AC Milan 1-0 a few days ago.
The match did not start smoothly for coach Mikel Arteta's team. In the 6th minute, Anthony Elanga - a £55 million contract from Newcastle - opened the scoring with a shot that hit the post twice, putting the "Magpies" in the lead.

However, Arsenal quickly responded. Mikel Merino equalised for the Londoners after a beautiful combination with Kai Havertz, who provided the assist with a delicate pass on the edge of the box. Shortly afterwards, the pressure from the Gunners continued to be rewarded when young Newcastle defender Alex Murphy scored an own goal after a cross from Havertz, giving Arsenal a 2-1 lead before the break.
In the second half, Newcastle rose strongly and equalized 2-2 thanks to Jacob Murphy, who came off the bench with a dangerous low shot that defeated David Raya.
However, Arsenal once again showed their mettle when 15-year-old talent Max Dowman had a brilliant performance on the right flank. After replacing Bukayo Saka in the first half, Dowman continuously stirred up the Newcastle defense. It was he who created the turning point when forcing Joelinton into a foul in the box late in the match. Captain Martin Odegaard coolly converted the penalty, sealing a 3-2 victory for Arsenal.
Max Dowman showed incredible confidence, regularly receiving the ball and breaking into the heart of the Newcastle defence.
The victory is an important step forward for coach Mikel Arteta in his preparations for the new season. His next task is to effectively integrate new signings Cristhian Mosquera and Viktor Gyokeres into the squad. If successful, Arsenal will be a strong contender for titles next season.
