On the afternoon of June 24, Mr. Thai Van An, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ngoc Son Commune (Thanh Chuong, Nghe An ) said that a concrete mixer truck had just collapsed a bridge over the spillway.
Mr. An added that the incident happened at 2:00 p.m. the same day. At that time, the tanker truck was transporting concrete to the end of Nam Thang hamlet of Ngoc Son commune. While passing over the bridge over Lim dam, the bridge unfortunately collapsed, causing the entire truck to fall down and get stuck.
Immediately after the incident, the commune worked with units and contractors to build a temporary road for people to pass through.
According to the leader of Ngoc Son commune, this iron bridge is located on the inter-village road, built in the 80s of the last century, and only repaired once in 1990. Up to now, the bridge is very old and degraded. The district has a project to rebuild this bridge and spillway, but the incident happened before it was implemented.
It is known that Ngoc Son commune is building a new rural area, so there are many vehicles transporting construction materials passing through this bridge.
