Phenikaa students entered the final round of the 2024 French-language Young Reporters competition

Launched in 2016, the Young Francophone Reporters Contest has become a prestigious playground for young people who love French. This year, with the theme "Creativity - Innovation - Entrepreneurship", the contest attracted hundreds of entries from contestants aged 18-35 at home and abroad. In addition to the Vietnam News Agency, the contest received support from many prestigious organizations such as: Group of embassies, delegations and French-speaking organizations in Vietnam (GADIF), Francophone University Agency (AUF), Wallonie-Bruxelles Delegation in Vietnam, along with universities and businesses.

With the orientation of promoting foreign language learning, international integration and preparation for the competition, Phenikaa University has actively supported students to participate in the competition. In August 2024, the Faculty of French invited Ms. Doan Thi Y Vi - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Le Courrier du Vietnam Newspaper to introduce the competition and guide students in writing. In particular, the school also sponsored a prize for this year's competition, to encourage candidates to develop their writing skills and motivate students who are passionate about journalism and the French language.

Among hundreds of entries, Phenikaa students impressed the judges with their unique content and novel approach. From the 4 entries in the Semi-finals, 3 entered the Top 20 Finalists with diverse topics such as: "Young people with ambitions to develop traditional ceramics" (Les jeunes et leurs ambitions de développer le métier céramique traditionnelle), "Promoting contemporary art and the role of French-speaking cultural institutions in Vietnam" (La promotion de l'art contemporain et le rôle des institutions culturelles francophones au Vietnam), and "The future of martial arts" (Le futur des arts martiaux). The works not only demonstrate French language skills but also provide insights into the role of creativity and entrepreneurship in the technology age.

The award ceremony is expected to take place in November 2024 in Hanoi , with the participation of representatives of Francophone embassies, famous journalists and partner universities. This is not only an occasion to honor outstanding candidates but also creates opportunities for students to exchange and share experiences in the field of media and journalism.

The Young French Reporters Competition is a valuable opportunity for Phenikaa French Language students to practice their writing skills, critical thinking and raise awareness of social issues. This success is an important milestone, opening up new opportunities for young people.
