The University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City - has just added a new facility for students at Hall D, Saigon Ward Campus: a free battery charging station.
This idea meets the need to "recharge" electronic devices of students. In addition to the old available sockets scattered around the campus, library, self-study room, the school has installed free charging stations where many students pass by after each class.
The charging station is simply designed, equipped with many slots and diverse charging ports, compatible with most popular phone models, and comes with a stand for students to place their devices while charging.
Although it has only just been put into operation, thanks to its central location, easy to see and convenient to access, the charging station has quickly attracted many students to stop by.
"I find this charging station very effective. We can charge our phones and laptops for studying.
Before, when my phone ran out of battery, I had to go to the library or charge it in the previous classrooms.
Now that there is this charging station, I feel it is very convenient and necessary because there are quite a lot of students in the school," Pham Thuan Phat, a student of the 25th course of the tourism faculty, shared.
Vu Thi Ngoc Anh, a student of the 24th class, Faculty of Journalism and Communication, said: "The free charging station at school has saved me when I need to meet a deadline and my computer runs out of battery. I no longer have to go to crowded lunch shops or coffee shops to find a place to charge my computer."

A representative of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities said: "The school has noted that students' need to charge their learning devices is increasing, while the number of public power outlets is limited, leading to a situation where students have to wait or share power outlets.
Referring to models from a number of other public units and educational institutions, the school deployed battery charging stations as a practical support solution, contributing to creating more favorable conditions for students in studying and living at school.
The charging station is currently in the testing phase to evaluate its suitability and effectiveness. It is expected that in December, the school will continue to install additional charging stations at Linh Xuan campus, thereby gradually expanding this utility to better serve students in the future."
