The latest report from the General Statistics Office, Ministry of Finance, noted outstanding positive points in business operations since the beginning of the year.

In August, the whole country had 20.5 thousand newly established enterprises with registered capital of 326.1 thousand billion VND and registered number of employees of 106.9 thousand, an increase of 23.9% in the number of enterprises, nearly 2.8 times in registered capital and 35.4% in the number of employees compared to July.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of enterprises increased by 52.9%, the registered capital increased by more than 2.6 times and the number of employees increased by 49.0%. The average registered capital of a newly established enterprise in the month reached 15.9 billion VND, more than 2.2 times higher than the previous month and increased by 71.2% over the same period last year. In addition, the whole country also had 12.4 thousand enterprises returning to operation, an increase of 46.4% over the same period in 2024.

In the first 8 months, the whole country had 128.2 thousand newly registered enterprises with a total registered capital of 1,254.5 thousand billion VND and a total registered number of nearly 777 thousand employees, an increase of 15.7% in the number of enterprises, an increase of 26.1% in registered capital and an increase of 15.5% in the number of employees compared to the same period last year.

The average registered capital of a newly established enterprise in the first eight months of 2025 reached VND 9.8 billion, an increase of 9.0% over the same period in 2024. The total registered capital added to the economy in the first eight months of 2025 reached nearly VND 4,135.7 trillion, an increase of 105.3% over the same period in 2024.

In addition, the whole country has 81.1 thousand enterprises returning to operation (up 41.4% over the same period in 2024), bringing the total number of newly established and returning enterprises in the first eight months of 2025 to 209.2 thousand enterprises, up 24.5% over the same period in 2024. On average, there are 26.2 thousand newly established and returning enterprises per month.

By economic sector, in the first 8 months, 1,167 enterprises were newly registered in the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector, up 7.1% over the same period last year; 28.4 thousand enterprises in the industry and construction sector, up 10.7%; 98.6 thousand enterprises in the service sector, up 17.4%.

Also in August, 6,500 enterprises registered to temporarily suspend business for a period of time, down 11.0% compared to the previous month./.
