The number of candidates for professorship and associate professorship in economics is more than 4 times that of mathematics.

(Dan Tri) - The State Council of Professors has just announced the list of candidates proposed for recognition as meeting the standards for the title of professor and associate professor in 2025.

Accordingly, the list includes 933 candidates in 26 majors and interdisciplinary fields.

The economics sector has the highest number of candidates proposed for the title of professor and associate professor with 153 people. This number is more than 4 times the number of candidates in the mathematics sector. Of which, the number of candidates proposed for the title of professor is 11 people.

Literature is the field with the lowest number of candidates, with only one candidate being proposed for the title of associate professor. The candidate is Ms. Le Thi Thanh Tam, born in 1975, currently Head of the Department of Vietnamese Studies and Language, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

The fields with less than 10 candidates proposed for consideration for the title of professor or associate professor also include: interdisciplinary history - archaeology - ethnology/anthropology (6 candidates); metallurgy (3 candidates); mechanics (7 candidates); irrigation (7 candidates).

Medicine is the field with the second highest number of candidates after economics, with 15 people proposed for the title of professor and 109 people proposed for the title of associate professor.
