According to information posted by DAZN and later confirmed by teams like Inter Milan, the tournament organizers have applied a clear fee schedule for on-field fouls. Teams will have to pay FIFA with specific fees as follows:
Yellow Card: 12,500 USD
Indirect red card (from 2 yellow cards): 18,770 USD.
Direct red card: 25,000 USD.
Unsportsmanlike conduct of the entire team: $18,770.
This rule applies to all participating clubs.
Surprisingly, this regulation has brought in a lot of money for FIFA. According to statistics up to the current time of the tournament, the World Football Federation is said to have earned a total of 2.45 million USD just from card fines.
This figure shows that this is not a small amount of income, but a deliberate source of revenue for FIFA. It puts a new perspective on the commercial side of the tournament, where every action on the field, including individual mistakes, can be converted into money.
