(Dan Tri) - Recently, on social networking sites, a video of a woman holding her child and crying, calling for help from the online community in front of the examination department gate of Children's Hospital 2 (HCMC) has been circulating.

In the video, the woman said that at around 4:30 a.m. on February 10, she took her child from her hometown to Children's Hospital 2 for a medical examination. While waiting for a car outside the hospital gate, two people came to ask for directions, showed her their phones, and after looking at them for a while, she didn't know anything else.

The woman later said that two people had staged a pickpocketing incident and lost all the 9.5 million VND she had saved for her child’s medical examination. The video was widely circulated and received attention from the online community as well as people living near the hospital.

Upon receiving the information, the Board of Directors of Children's Hospital 2 directed relevant departments to quickly coordinate with Ben Nghe Ward Police (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) to extract security cameras and investigate to clarify the case. At the same time, the hospital also proactively sought information about the child patient.

After the working process, on February 11, the hospital received information from Ben Nghe Ward Police. Accordingly, the results of extracting the hospital's camera and surrounding businesses showed that at around 4:30 a.m. on February 10, the woman in the clip carried a baby from gate number 4 to Children's Hospital 2.

Nearly 2 hours later, the woman walked across the street to have breakfast, then returned to the hospital in the area in front of the lobby to wait for examination, and more than 30 minutes later, she turned on her phone to livestream.

At 12:37 p.m. the same day, the woman went out for lunch and returned to the hospital nearly an hour later. At around 2 p.m., the woman and her baby left through gate number 5 of the hospital and took a motorbike taxi.

Children's Hospital 2 confirmed that the information in the clip shared on social media is completely false. According to the conclusion from Ben Nghe Ward Police, there was no pickpocketing incident in front of Children's Hospital 2 on the morning of February 10.

"The hospital is informing about the incident to avoid affecting social media users. We hope that people will not continue to share the video, nor transfer money to the account number provided by the woman.

The hospital's Social Work Department is currently the focal point for receiving information about children in difficult circumstances who need help. The information has been verified and we are ready to act as a bridge with benefactors and donors to share love," said a representative of Children's Hospital 2.
