The Ministry of Education and Training has just issued Circular No. 24/2025/TT-BGDDT amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Regulations on the National Science and Technology Research Competition for middle and high school students issued together with Circular No. 06/2024/TT-BGDDT, dated April 10, 2024 of the Minister of Education and Training. The Circular takes effect from November 28, 2025.
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the addition and amendment of Circular 06 focuses on three main contents, including: methods of selecting projects to compete in the National Competition; issues related to the organization of the Competition and issues related to the organization of the Competition at the level of the participating unit.
Contestants must select their projects through the competition format and apply the issued regulations. This helps the projects selected to participate at the national level not to be surprised when participating in the Competition.
One of the notable points is the public announcement of the competition projects. Units are required to improve the honesty in scientific research through specifying requirements such as: public announcement of the competition projects selected to participate at the national level, clarifying the responsibilities of scientific research instructors.
The Ministry of Education and Training said that although this had been previously stipulated, in the Circular amending and supplementing Circular 06, this content was emphasized more and included specific subjects to enhance scientific integrity in scientific and technical research. Competition projects selected to participate at the national level when publicly announced, ensuring social supervision and honesty in research.
The Circular also amends and supplements a number of other contents, aiming to make the organization more public, transparent and fair in order to further promote the making of scientific and technical research a regular activity in general schools, promote teaching and learning in the direction of developing STEM science and technology, meeting the requirements of preparing human resources for national development.
