Ban But (Quan Hoa) - an attractive community tourism destination for visitors.
When visiting community tourism destinations in Thanh Hoa, visitors cannot miss Ban Ma Tourist Area (Thuong Xuan); Pu Luong Community Eco-Tourism Area (Ba Thuoc); Ban Ngam, Son Dien Commune (Quan Son); Ban But (Quan Hoa)... Coming to these places, visitors will be immersed in the beautiful natural scenery, experience the life of ethnic minorities, participate in extremely unique cultural and artistic activities. A typical example is Ban Ma Tourist Area (Thuong Xuan), where the green nature, fresh climate, and many traditional cultural identities of the Thai ethnic group are still preserved, so it has long become an ideal place for many tourists to visit and relax. In order to meet the needs of tourists, many households in Ban Ma have invested in building stilt houses and homestays, contributing to awakening the tourism potential here.
One of the accommodation facilities in Ma village that has been invested in quite a large scale, methodically and attracts many tourists to visit and stay is the homestay of Mr. Vi Van Tien's family. Mr. Tien said: "Since 2016, my family has renovated and rebuilt the traditional stilt house to serve tourists. Understanding the needs of tourists who like to experience activities, explore the "specialties" of nature and people here, in addition to food and beverage and resort services, my family's homestay has organized activities to experience the daily life of the highland people; participate in cultural and artistic activities, bamboo dancing, rattling... In addition, we also actively build tours connecting Ma village with other tourist destinations in the district such as: Ma village - exploring Cua Dat lake - Yen waterfall - Goldencow farm... From there, contributing to increasing the experience for tourists and attracting more and more tourists to Ma village".
As a visitor to the Ban Ma Tourist Area for sightseeing and experience, Ms. Phuong Anh (Yen Dinh) said: "In the summer, my family often visits community tourism sites in the province. This summer, coming to Ban Ma, I was very impressed with the pristine culture of the Thai ethnic people here, along with the natural beauty, fresh climate, friendliness and hospitality of the local people. Not only that, the quality of homestay services and local cuisine are also very rich. We also learned about the culture and life of the people, and experienced grilling fish, making sticky rice, wearing ethnic costumes... These simple things have created the attraction for us to come back many times".
For many years, Don village, Thanh Lam commune (Ba Thuoc) has also been famous as an attractive community tourism destination for visitors. Don village is the buffer zone of Pu Luong Nature Reserve. Currently, the village still retains the traditional stilt houses, and many customs, folk songs and dances of the Thai ethnic group. Moreover, this place also has beautiful terraced fields and green and ripe rice seasons, with a cool climate all year round. Thanks to that, in recent years, Don village has attracted many domestic and foreign tourists to visit and relax. In order to serve the increasing accommodation needs of tourists, currently in Don village, there are many people and businesses investing and building accommodation facilities. Ms. Le Thi Phuong Dung, who invested in building accommodation facilities in Don village, said: "Since 2018, my family has invested more than 3 billion VND to build 2 bungalows for family rooms, 3 treehouses for double rooms and 1 communal stilt house with a capacity of 10 - 15 people. To preserve the identity of the Thai ethnic group, when building the rooms, I have made the most of natural materials such as bamboo, reed, stone, wood... to both protect the ecological environment and be close and friendly to people. To attract tourists, we also maximize the potential of indigenous culture to serve tourists, organize cultural exchange nights, take tourists to explore and experience the life and activities of the Thai ethnic people, and prepare culinary dishes that are specialties here such as Co Lung duck, stone mountain snails, fried hill chicken, bitter bamboo shoots... Thanks to that, in recent years, our facility has attracted quite a lot of visitors. tourists come to visit and stay".
It can be seen that through a variety of activities serving tourists to visit, stay, eat, experience local culture, climb mountains, camp... community tourism in the province is increasingly affirming its attractiveness. Currently, community tourism is also considered a type that brings many benefits, not only creating jobs, increasing income for local residents, but also contributing to preserving and promoting unique cultural features of the locality. Therefore, in order for community tourism to develop further, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has increased coordination with localities to organize for households doing community tourism to participate in training courses, improve tourism capacity, organize tours, learn from experiences at community tourism destinations in other provinces...
However, objectively speaking, the development of community tourism in the province still has many limitations, services are still monotonous, connectivity and support are not yet sustainable; tourism skills of the people are still lacking and weak; experiential tourism products and cultural landscapes built at each destination and locality are still overlapping and have not been innovated or broken through... Therefore, for community tourism to develop sustainably, it is necessary to have closer coordination between all levels, sectors, localities and people.
