Community power in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Trung Thinh commune

BHG - According to the annual plan, Xin Man district will build and repair nearly 2,000 houses. To complete the plan and motivate people to "settle down" and develop the economy, recently, Xin Man district has created strength for the whole community to join hands to eliminate temporary houses (XNT) and dilapidated houses (NDN) to create achievements to celebrate Uncle Ho's birthday on May 19, 2025.

“In recent years, Xin Man district has made efforts to implement many social security programs, in which the work of XNT and NDN has always been identified as a key task. With the determination of the entire political system and the joint efforts of the whole society, the XNT and NDN program in the district will continue to achieve good results”. This is the affirmation of Xin Man District Party Secretary Do Thi Huong when talking to reporters about the progress of the implementation of the XNT and NDN program launched by the Government.

These days, the Party Committee and the government of Trung Thinh commune are focusing on mobilizing the maximum human resources in the locality, encouraging people to start construction right from the beginning of the year to complete the progress of 65 temporary houses and NDN. Chairman of Trung Thinh commune People's Committee, Nguyen Minh Cong said: "After checking, the whole commune has nearly 70 households eligible for XNT, NDN, if only with the support of the State, it will be difficult for people here to have a new house. But with the joint efforts of the entire political system and the community, philanthropists, the support and additional help with cement from the Provincial Police and Agribank Ha Giang. Trung Thinh commune has mobilized the maximum resources of the people in the commune to help the needy have their "dream" house in the fastest time".

Together with Deputy Secretary of the Trung Thinh Commune Youth Union, Lu Seo Phuc went to learn about the strength of the community. We visited the family of Mr. Tai Van Thanh, in Ta Thuong village, one of the families that is speeding up the construction progress to complete according to the plan set by the district and commune. Mr. Phuc confided: "In the past time, with more than 200 union members, youth of the commune together with the commune police force, militia and self-defense force, we have divided into groups and based on the actual needs of each household to assign work to support each family from digging foundations, leveling the ground, transporting construction materials, literally "racing against time" before the upcoming rainy season".

In the nearly completed house, unable to hide his joy, Mr. Tai Van Thanh, Ta Thuong village, emotionally said: “For many years, my family has lived in a seriously degraded stilt house, always worried about a new house to have better living conditions as well as avoid the risk of landslides every rainy season but did not have enough conditions. Now, with the attention and support of the State and units and organizations sponsoring cement, sand, stone, gravel; the commune mobilized cadres and youth to help the family with the construction work, plus funds borrowed from brothers, friends, and neighbors. The family's 2-storey house worth nearly 300 million VND is nearly completed. On behalf of my family, I do not know what else to say, I can only thank the Party, the State, the local government and the people in the commune for always caring for families in difficult circumstances like me...".

With nearly 70 houses in the commune's XNT and NDN areas gradually being completed, we can see the determination of the entire political system and the local people. Chairman of Trung Thinh Commune People's Committee, Nguyen Minh Cong, added: "The commune assigns specific tasks in implementing the program to each block and each member in charge to achieve the highest efficiency. At the same time, it mobilizes and encourages people in each village and hamlet to help each other contribute working days so that the program can soon complete its set goals."

It can be affirmed that the Program of XNT, NDN for poor households and households in difficult circumstances not only in Trung Thinh commune but also in the whole Xin Man district has been mobilizing the endogenous strength of the community and local people, joining hands with poor households of XNT, NDN, forming more houses of solidarity to practically make achievements to celebrate the birthday of beloved Uncle Ho!
