Bui Quoc Hoang (22 years old, Ho Chi Minh City), a 4th year student majoring in social work, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City National University, is the author of this emotional photo and video collection.
On Hoang's personal page, more than 50 impressive moments have attracted 1,700 shares and spread strongly on many newspapers, radio stations and fanpages.
What makes Bui Quoc Hoang receive so much praise is his young age, especially because he has not attended any professional photography school. With his passion and talent for photography, the final year student of social work has created impressive works.
The main idea for Bui Quoc Hoang's photo series is to focus on fresh colors, the future values of the country, clearly showing the closeness between the army and the people.
Born and raised in Ho Chi Minh City, Quoc Hoang has always had a burning love and pride for the city. That is why, since the beginning of the year, the student has been nurturing the idea of making a special photo album, capturing memorable moments in the country's important events.
To realize this idea, Hoang spent time carefully researching the parade's itinerary, from departure time to travel routes... He even carefully spent a whole day surveying the location and looking for the most ideal camera angle.
The main idea that Quoc Hoang wants to convey through the photo series is to aim for fresh colors, towards the future value of the country and the army will go in the arms of the people. Therefore, in many frames, viewers can clearly feel the closeness and friendliness between the soldiers and the people.
An important principle set by Hoang when working is to ensure the true color of the uniform, contributing to expressing the solemnity and spirit of the armed forces.

Immersing himself in the heroic atmosphere of April 30, Quoc Hoang could not help but be moved and continuously recorded memorable moments. Immediately after completing, he shared the photo series on his personal page, hoping to spread the beautiful images to everyone. The warm reception from the community brought great happiness to the young student.
When reviewing his works, Quoc Hoang expressed satisfaction at 8/10. However, he did not hesitate to share his regret at not being able to capture the most satisfactory footage due to focusing too much on taking photos. In addition, limitations in shooting angles also caused the frame to be entangled with unwanted details such as billboards, lamp posts, trees, etc.
However, with an optimistic spirit, Hoang shared: "However, I always keep in mind that if I demand too much, it will be very difficult to get a satisfactory photo. So for me, at the moment of that moment, the lens, camera and actual angle are always the best things and need to be used well to get a beautiful photo."
Earn 10-20 million VND/month as a student
Quoc Hoang's photography opportunity came to him in 9th grade, when his relatives gave him a Canon 30D camera. From then on, Hoang began to record every moment of life around him, from people, to the surrounding scenery, from home, to the street to class... and then he fell in love with photography without realizing it.
To improve his skills, the young man constantly researched photography skills online and contacted famous photographers to learn from their experiences. Thanks to his talent and passion, Hoang began taking photos for youth activities and movements since his high school years.
The first working opportunities at big events such as the Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia Children's Festival helped Hoang gain more experience and earn his first income of 500,000 VND from his passion.
Quoc Hoang waited for the moment of the parade in Ho Chi Minh City, filming for more than 15 hours.
Throughout his journey of pursuing photography, Quoc Hoang has constantly strived to improve his skills and expand his mark through many important events such as the Excellent Team Leader Competition, the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Student Association, the National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union, the Journey of I Love My Fatherland Vietnam 2024, the State funeral of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in Ho Chi Minh City...
Hoang's photography secret is very simple: "Just put your soul into the picture so that the work has emotion. When taking a photo, press the shutter continuously and think of many angles."
Although studying a major unrelated to journalism, Quoc Hoang still nurtured a passion for photojournalism and constantly learned from his seniors.
To have a stable income, he maintains a service photography job with a salary ranging from 10-12 million VND/month, the highest being nearly 20 million VND at the end of the year.
He shared that he encountered many difficulties when pursuing his passion in a different field, but he did not give up. The incidents in his career helped him become more mature. Currently, Hoang is studying for a journalism certificate and cherishes the dream of becoming a professional photojournalist, bringing authentic and meaningful moments to the public.
