On August 16, the People's Committee of Hoa Hiep Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District, said that it had issued a document requesting Mr. PHT (53 years old, owner of Thoi Nay tourist establishment) to temporarily suspend the operation of this tourist establishment (in the area of Luong stream, Hai Van pass, Hoa Hiep Bac Ward) to review safety measures. The reason for the temporary suspension is that this establishment did not ensure safety during operation, leading to drowning incidents.
Previously, at around 9:00 a.m. on August 13, a group of 10 tourists arrived at Thoi Nay tourist facility and rented stall number 7 to rest, bathe in the stream, and eat. Many children in the group went to bathe in the stream , including TL (male, 6 years old, American nationality). At around 2:00 p.m. the same day, the family discovered L. drowning, brought him to shore for first aid and called an ambulance, but L. had died.
After the People's Committee of Hoa Hiep Bac Ward requested, Mr. PHT agreed to temporarily suspend operations while the authorities investigated the drowning incident.
As Thanh Nien reported, recently, the People's Committee of Hoa Hiep Bac Ward and Lien Chieu District have rectified a series of business establishments in the area of Luong Stream and Hai Van Pass, preventing illegal renovation of stream banks, in order to ensure the landscape and flow.
