According to Viet Hoan, experience in the military environment will help him train the qualities of both a doctor and a soldier.

"This is not a 'going for the sake of knowledge' process, not a turning point in one's career, but a part of the journey of self-improvement, becoming a doctor who is not only good at his profession but also has a strong spirit and responsibility towards the people and the country," the new resident doctor wrote.

Residency is a special training program for newly graduated medical students. The number of residents in each specialty is very small, so this exam is highly competitive and stressful.

In Vietnam, there are currently 13 schools training resident physicians, of which Hanoi Medical University is the oldest. The Ministry of Health considers this a necessary program to train good doctors with practical skills in hospitals.
