NDO - On March 22, Russian media, citing preliminary figures from the Public Relations Center of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), reported that more than 60 people were killed and over 100 injured in the terrorist attack at the "Crocus City Hall" concert hall in Krasnogorsk, a suburb of Moscow.

According to Russian media reports, the terrorist attack occurred before an evening concert at the Crocus Concert Hall. A group of armed men opened fire in the main hall, after which fires broke out on the upper floors of the building. Following the tragedy, the Russian Foreign Ministry called it a bloody terrorist attack. The Russian Federal Investigative Committee opened a criminal case to investigate. Law enforcement agencies in Moscow are urgently taking necessary measures to provide medical assistance to the injured and to track down the terrorists.![]() |

More than 30 regional ambulance teams and 20 Moscow ambulance teams have been deployed to the scene. Residents of Moscow and Moscow Oblast are being urged to volunteer to donate blood, starting at 8:00 AM Moscow time on March 23rd. Security measures have been increased at airports and train stations in Moscow. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called on the international community to condemn the bloody terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall concert hall in the suburbs of Moscow. Meanwhile, Moscow Oblast Governor Andrei Vorobyov announced the establishment of an emergency headquarters. The Crocus Concert Hall in Krasnogorsk is located in the Crocus shopping center near Myakinino station and belongs to the Crocus Group of businessman Araz Agalarov. The building has seven floors and a total usable area of over 38,000 m² . The complex includes an auditorium with over 9,500 seats, which opened on October 25, 2009.
