On October 9, ship CBS 8001 docked at Squadron 301 - Coast Guard Region 3 Command, after 3 days of sending a working group to survey and grasp the situation of coastal seas and islands.
Previously, from the morning of October 7, the Command of Coast Guard Region 3 coordinated with the provinces of Dong Thap , Vinh Long and Ho Chi Minh City to organize a working delegation led by Colonel Cao Xuan Quan, Deputy Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 3, to survey and grasp the situation of coastal seas and islands from Ho Chi Minh City to Vinh Long province.

The working delegation presented national flags and necessities to fishermen fishing in Con Dao waters.
Colonel Cao Xuan Quan said that coordinating with local authorities and units inside and outside the army to survey and grasp the situation of coastal sea and island areas is one of the important political tasks of the Coast Guard Region 3 Command. During this survey, the Coast Guard Region 3 Command and localities grasped the situation of coastal sea and island areas, combined with patrolling, inspecting, controlling, and combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing. Thereby, promoting and improving coordination, cooperation, and information exchange between the Coast Guard and the authorities, armed forces, and people of the provinces and cities under the management of the Coast Guard Region 3 Command.
During the survey trip, on the afternoon of October 8, in the middle of the northeastern sea of Con Dao special zone, CSB 8001 launched two motorboats, taking members of the delegation to inspect the actual activities of fishermen. Two fishing boats TV 94967 TS and TV 94968 TS of Vinh Long province were selected for inspection. Here, the Coast Guard coordinated with local authorities to check fishing licenses, vessel registration, fishermen's lists, information equipment and maritime safety.
Before that, the delegation had activities of giving gifts and working in Con Dao special zone as well as surveying and understanding the situation in the areas of Cua Soai Rap, Cua Tieu, Cua Dai, Cua Ham Luong, Cua Cung Hau, and Cua Dinh An.
During the 3-day survey, the Coast Guard combined propaganda of laws at sea, organized propaganda, inspection and control of 35 fishing vessels. Along with this task, the working group also presented national flags and necessities to fishermen, and at the same time propagated and reminded fishermen to strictly comply with the provisions of the law.
At the end of the voyage, the working group held a meeting to review experiences and comprehensively evaluate the results of the mission. Colonel Cao Xuan Quan requested agencies and units to continue to maintain coordination in surveys and inspections, contributing to improving the effectiveness of ensuring security, order, safety and sustainable development in the seas and islands of the Fatherland.
Ms. Vo Thi Mong Thu, Deputy Head of the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance of Ho Chi Minh City, highly appreciated the effectiveness of coordination between the forces at sea. "After this working trip, we will continue to coordinate to organize synchronous operations, inspections and extensive propaganda, helping fishermen feel secure to go out to sea and stay at sea for a long time," Ms. Thu emphasized.
