The Provincial Border Guard has directed Border Guard stations and Squadron 2 to deploy plans to organize the use of forces and means to strengthen the peak period of patrolling and controlling on rivers and at sea (from now until September 2025); resolutely not allowing people and fishing vessels to go to sea without ensuring the conditions for practice (registration, inspection, fishing license, installation and maintenance of VMS equipment...) and safety equipment according to regulations. At the same time, 100% of fishing vessels with a length of 15 meters or more are required to connect to VMS equipment when operating at sea according to regulations; strictly handle cases of fishing vessels violating, especially IUU violations.

In June, 8 ships/48 officers and soldiers were mobilized to patrol, control and combat IUU in the province's waters. Border Guard stations organized patrols and controls on rivers and beaches with 59 teams/59 canoes/228 officers and soldiers participating. 3,360 fishing boats/22,880 workers entering and leaving ports were registered for verification. Accumulated from the beginning of the year until now, 439 teams/439 canoes/1,623 officers and soldiers participated; 15,704 fishing boats/114,217 workers entering and leaving ports were registered for verification.

In addition, the provincial Fisheries Surveillance force organizes, patrols, inspects, and controls at sea and at fishing ports periodically and suddenly when there is information about fishing vessels violating regulations. The representative offices of fisheries control at fishing ports: Phan Thiet, Phu Hai, La Gi, Phan Ri Cua, Phu Quy conduct inspections and controls of fishing vessels entering and leaving the ports in accordance with the criteria in Circular No. 21/2018/TT-BNNPTN.
