Strengthening propaganda on drowning prevention for students

Every summer, the number of tragic drowning accidents, especially among children, increases. To prevent and minimize losses caused by drowning, schools as well as all levels, sectors and localities in the province have implemented many measures to equip students and teenagers with the necessary skills to protect themselves, helping them have a truly safe and rewarding summer.

Students practice first aid techniques for drowning victims.

The extracurricular activity of Propagatingand educating skills on preventing injuries and drowning accidents was organized by Phuong Do Secondary School, Ha Giang City. Here, students were imparted knowledge and skills to ensure safety related to drowning; and practiced first aid techniques for drowning victims. Thereby helping students raise awareness and they themselves will be propagandists right at their schools and families.

Schools integrate drowning prevention propaganda into lessons

Not only organizing extracurricular activities, schools in Ha Giang city often integrate drowning prevention propaganda into youth radio programs, flag-raising ceremonies or in class. At the same time, they closely coordinate with families in managing students, especially during the summer.

Now, summer has come and summer vacation is approaching, in addition to the efforts of propaganda and knowledge provision by schools, organizations, unions and local authorities, the proactive and strict management of children in the summer by families also plays a very important role. Only then can we improve the effectiveness of drowning prevention and control, minimize losses due to drowning, so that summer is truly safe and beneficial for children.
