Trade promotion is an activity to seek opportunities to buy and sell goods and provide services, playing a role in promoting economic restructuring, improving the competitiveness and operational efficiency of enterprises, cooperatives and production households. Implementing Plan No. 296/KH-UBND dated February 10, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee on Trade Promotion in 2025, the Department of Industry and Trade coordinates with departments, branches and localities to deploy many practical programs, at the same time promote propaganda and mobilize people to actively respond to the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods".
In order to expand the consumption market and enhance trade, the province has implemented trade promotion activities in various forms such as: fairs, exhibitions, product displays, supply-demand connection conferences... This is an opportunity for businesses to approach new customers, expand distribution channels, and at the same time, it is an opportunity for consumers to directly experience and better understand the quality and origin of local products. The province focuses on signing many memorandums of understanding on business cooperation, expanding product distribution and consumption links, promoting cooperation in the field of industrial promotion, trade promotion and enhancing experience exchange in potential and strong industries such as: dong vermicelli, black jelly, Bao Lac fragrant sticky rice, bamboo mats, Kolia tea, Gynostemma pentaphyllum tea, essential oils of all kinds, dried vermicelli, sausage, Phuc Sen blacksmith village products, dried bamboo shoots, shiitake mushrooms, wood ear mushrooms, rice cakes, sli...
One of the highlights in the province's trade promotion activities is the trade fairs held annually, especially the OCOP product trade promotion fair. The event brings together hundreds of typical products of districts and cities, creating a vibrant and unique trading space. Since the beginning of 2025, the province has actively participated in major fairs such as: Ha Lang - Dai Tan Border Specialty Fair (China), VITM Hanoi International Tourism Fair 2025, the 21st Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival... contributing to the extensive promotion of local products, affirming the position of Vietnamese goods in domestic and foreign markets.
Ms. Vi Thao, owner of the "Highland Specialties" facility in Kim Dong commune (Thach An) shared: Thanks to participating in trade fairs, I not only have the opportunity to promote products to consumers but also directly connect with many agents inside and outside the province. Thanks to that, the facility has expanded its distribution channels to supermarkets and e-commerce platforms, helping the brand become more known to more people.
Grasping market trends, the province focuses on applying information technology, digital transformation and e-commerce to trade promotion activities. Accordingly, the Department of Industry and Trade promotes support for OCOP products, agricultural products and craft villages to access e-commerce platforms, while establishing links with supermarket systems and commercial centers inside and outside the province. Thereby, contributing to the formation of a closed supply chain from production to consumption, minimizing intermediary costs and expanding market access in a sustainable manner. Thanks to that, businesses not only improve the quality and stabilize product output but also increase their competitiveness in the market.
Along with promoting consumption, propaganda and raising awareness of Vietnamese goods have also been widely and systematically implemented. In particular, the photo contest "Vietnamese Goods - Aspiration to Reach Far" in 2025 has attracted widespread attention from a large number of consumers, contributing to strongly spreading the message of pride and awareness of prioritizing the use of Vietnamese goods in the community. In addition, the work of preventing smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods has also been tightened to protect the interests of consumers and the reputation of Vietnamese goods brands.
The synchronous efforts in organizing and implementing trade promotion activities have brought about clear results. As of May 15, 2025, the total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in the province reached over VND 5,558 billion, an increase of more than 13% over the same period last year. The market for goods is rich, diverse and stable, with no speculation or illegal price increases, showing the positive effects of trade promotion programs.
