Students across the country are entering the summer vacation, so families are planning to take their children on vacation . This is the peak season for the tourism and aviation industries. According to a survey from airlines, 68,558 domestic flights are expected to be operated this time, an average of 745 flights/day. The number of seats offered is approximately 14 million, an increase of more than 21% compared to last summer; some routes are cheap, bringing many opportunities for people to experience.

According to Vietjet Air, the airline plans to provide more than 400,000 additional seats, equivalent to 1,600 flights during the peak summer season from June 1 to July 15, on routes to and from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Hue, Quang Binh, Quy Nhon, Tuy Hoa, Phu Quoc...

Similarly, during the peak summer period from May 20 to August 15, Vietnam Airlines will operate more than 43,000 flights on its domestic and international network, equivalent to nearly 9 million seats for passengers. Of which, the airline plans to operate about 33,000 domestic flights, providing more than 6.3 million seats. Compared to the normal flight schedule, the number of domestic seats will increase by more than 28%, equivalent to nearly 1.4 million additional seats. Notably, early morning and late evening flight times will continue to be maintained as a proactive solution to increase supply for the summer market.

Meanwhile, the routes connecting Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and tourist destinations such as Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Da Lat, Hue, Quy Nhon, Thanh Hoa are expected to attract a large number of passengers. Therefore, Vietnam Airlines will prioritize increasing capacity on these routes to meet travel demand during peak periods. With the routes connecting Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City, airlines are expected to operate 26,800 flights providing nearly 5.9 million seats. According to airlines, the number of seats is still quite abundant and airlines have prepared plans to increase capacity in case of increased passenger demand.

A survey on airline ticket sales sites shows that flights from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat, Phu Quoc, Hanoi, and Hai Phong all recorded a sharp increase in the number of passengers booking tickets.

In particular, the Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang route, one of the most vibrant tourist routes, is currently also quite affordable compared to previous years, with Vietravel Airlines tickets costing less than 1 million VND/way, Vietjet 1.1-1.6 million VND. Some shorter routes such as Hanoi - Da Nang, Vietjet Air is selling with prices recorded from 1.2 million to 1.9 million VND/way depending on the airline and time of booking. This is a good price, suitable for tourists who want to travel in early summer.

However, it should be noted that these are flights with departure times falling in the late afternoon or late evening, suitable for families taking their children home for summer vacation. For peak hour flights, the price will be higher from a few hundred thousand to nearly 1 million VND/way depending on the flight and airline.

Ms. Pham Thi Le (Ngu Hanh Son District) said that the low increase in airfares for the summer of 2025 is a positive sign for the tourism market. This is a good opportunity for her family to plan to explore their favorite destinations. Similarly, the family of Mr. Nguyen Tan Son (Ngu Hanh Son District) shared that he had bought tickets for the whole family to travel to Ca Mau and this year the airfares did not increase dramatically like every year...

In fact, airfares from now until mid-July have not fluctuated much compared to last year. Ticket prices started to increase from the end of May and were at their highest in June... In contrast to the downward trend on many routes, some routes from Hanoi to Da Lat and Con Dao still maintain high prices. Specifically, round-trip tickets from Hanoi to Con Dao are currently around 8.7 million VND, with almost no accompanying promotions.

Although airlines have launched attractive promotions, it is not easy to hunt for these tickets, because of the flight schedule and the time to book tickets very early. Along with that, airlines also recommend that passengers should book and issue tickets early, especially on domestic and international routes with high demand, through official channels such as the airline's website, mobile application, ticket office or agent.

At the same time, passengers are encouraged to check in online before their flight via the website, mobile application, at airport kiosks within 24 hours before departure time or through the "Airline Services" feature integrated on the VNeID level 2 electronic identification application.
