The nucleus creates a ripple effect.

Recognizing digital technology businesses as the pioneering force in digital transformation, Thanh Hoa province has made significant progress with many large and local businesses participating and contributing to the technology market. This development not only reflects the need for innovation in agencies and organizations but also shows that businesses are the central driving force behind the spread of digital transformation to every aspect of life.

To better understand this role, we can start with pioneering units like VNPT Thanh Hoa. With the deployment of online conferencing software, paperless meeting rooms, and administrative reform scoring software, VNPT has contributed to enhancing transparency and operational efficiency in the public sector. In particular, the expansion of the VnEdu system to nearly 1,800 schools, along with the electronic communication log in over 1,300 schools, has created a significant shift in education management, bringing convenience to schools and parents.

Thanks to these contributions, the province's digital transformation network continues to be extended by Viettel Thanh Hoa. Not only has Viettel supported the development of the former Thanh Hoa City into a smart city, but it also operates 10 monitoring services at the Sam Son Smart City Operations Center, provides an educational ecosystem, and deploys a province-wide learning social network. This demonstrates a strong shift from traditional management models to modern, digitized operations.

To form a complete technology value chain, many local businesses continue to play a crucial role. ThinkLabs develops open data portals, the Smart Thanh Hoa application, and platforms serving the healthcare sector. Tan Thanh Phuong builds a digital ecosystem for agriculture, traditional crafts, and tourism – meeting the needs of digitalization at the grassroots level. Minh Lo provides digital healthcare solutions such as electronic medical records, hospital management software, and laboratory connectivity. Businesses like G8, Asia Pacific, HiTech, Nam Phong, Manh Dinh, Pro F1, and LigoSoft also contribute to completing the hardware and telecommunications infrastructure, creating a diverse and in-depth information technology (IT) market.

The close connections between business groups have formed a dynamic digital ecosystem, expanding the impact of digital transformation on socio-economic life. Thousands of jobs in software, e-commerce, logistics, and digital media are created each year. Technological solutions help government agencies operate more efficiently, businesses operate smarter, and citizens access services more conveniently. As a result, digital transformation has gone beyond the scope of technology deployment, becoming a driving force for labor productivity and opening up new economic fields such as the data economy and smart cities.

Efforts to improve the digital platform

To achieve these results, over the years, our province has implemented a comprehensive set of strategic steps, from infrastructure planning to the organization and implementation of digital transformation programs. One of the important milestones is the investment in the 12-story Provincial Information Technology Center's administrative building with over 19,000 square meters of floor space, dedicating 3 floors to businesses for office space, forming the foundation for a concentrated IT zone. Along with this is the planning of high-tech industrial parks in Nghi Son and Lam Son - Sao Vang, opening up attractive investment opportunities for large technology companies and startups.

Alongside infrastructure development are supportive policies. The province has issued numerous action plans on digital enterprise development, promoting the application of IT in government agencies, and coordinating with telecommunications companies to build shared digital platforms, open data portals, and software for managing education, healthcare, land, and e-commerce. The connection between the government, businesses, and experts is a highlight, creating a favorable environment for new technological models and products to be tested and scaled up.

Thanks to a well-structured implementation process, the province now has 1,742 businesses operating in the IT sector or related industries, of which more than 1,100 generate revenue and nearly 200 operate efficiently. This is not just a statistic but proof of the strong transformation of the digital technology ecosystem, showing that businesses are truly becoming the central force driving digital transformation in the province.

Despite the achievements, the development of digital technology businesses still faces many challenges. The majority of businesses are still small in scale, lacking the resources to invest in research and development of new products. Many businesses are not yet strong enough to participate in large projects or develop products with strong brands. The shared data infrastructure is not yet synchronized, leading to inefficient data exploitation.

To overcome existing challenges and create a foundation for long-term development, Thanh Hoa has developed a strategic orientation until 2030, which sets a target for the digital economy to contribute 30-35% to GRDP, while also establishing a data center, a high-tech industrial park, and a complete digital business ecosystem.

To realize that goal, the province is focusing on a comprehensive set of long-term solutions. The main focus is on perfecting institutions and policies to support businesses, creating a favorable environment for innovation and the development of technological products. Programs on developing strong research groups, protecting intellectual property, and improving the quality of the Science and Technology Development Fund are being implemented in a practical manner to enhance the competitiveness of IT businesses.

Alongside institutional reform, the province focuses on attracting large technology corporations to invest, especially in key areas such as AI, semiconductors, IoT, and cloud data infrastructure. The presence of leading enterprises is expected to create a ripple effect, promoting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises along the value chain. In addition, the province prioritizes the development of digital human resources, strengthening links with universities and academies, building training and technology transfer centers for digital technologies, and implementing a program to popularize digital skills in the community; contributing to creating a foundation for the strong development of the digital economy.

With a synchronized implementation approach and a long-term vision, Thanh Hoa is building a solid foundation for digital technology businesses to become a driving force, enabling the province to make breakthroughs in the coming period.
