At the end of July 2025, National Highway 28B passing through Phan Son commune was quite crowded with traffic. Although this route is under construction and has difficulties in traffic, it is still the choice of many people to travel. Because this is one of the "gateway" points to the administrative area of the new Lam Dong province, the axis of the Mui Ne - Da Lat tourist route, convenient for trading goods in and out of the locality.
However, according to the reporter's observation, Phan Son people live in concentrated resettlement areas. The commune's terrain is mountainous and long, so transportation is still difficult. Those factors, plus the weather, production conditions... have impacted and affected the general development of the locality in recent times.
Meeting us on the occasion of the locality organizing the first Congress of the Party Committee of Phan Son commune, Mr. Nguyen Van Chin - Secretary of the Party Committee of the commune said: “Phan Son is a mountainous commune of the province, mostly ethnic minorities with 11 ethnic groups living there such as: K'Ho, Rac Lay, Cham, Tay, Nung... In addition to the difficulties in natural conditions, the commune still has its own highlights, which are development potential. That is, in the commune there are 2 big rivers: TaMai and Daketru, the canal system of Dai Ninh Hydropower Plant, Bac Binh Hydropower Plant, Song Luy reservoir and other dam systems with water flowing all year round. Thanks to that, people have gradually focused on changing the structure of crops and livestock in the direction of local advantages".
Notably, the total area of fruit trees of all kinds is over 458 hectares, including: tangerines, mangoes, grapefruits, tissue culture bananas... The people also continue to replicate new production models with high efficiency such as the new rice varieties ST24, ST25. The total livestock herd of the people is increasing, including: a herd of over 2,350 cows, a herd of 50 buffaloes, over 12,380 pigs, contributing to stabilizing the people's economy ... Notably, the commune's annual budget revenue always meets and exceeds the target.
An official of Phan Son commune further explained: To achieve this result, the highlight is that in the commune, there are 2 Solar Power Plants Phan Lam 1 and Phan Lam 2 of Nam Viet Company, with an area of 220 hectares, which have been put into operation, with a total capacity of more than 400 MWp... With the current development reality, the locality is focusing on promoting the conversion of crops and livestock, exploiting and rationally using land and mineral resources. Along with that, promoting the advantage of the location connecting to National Highway 28B to encourage the expansion of economic types in accordance with the general planning of the commune.
Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Bo Thi Xuan Linh, when directing the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of Phan Son commune, taking place at the end of July 2025, also emphasized: Phan Son needs to continue to focus on restructuring the agricultural sector, focusing on high-tech agriculture, organic agriculture; strongly shifting to effective crops and livestock. At the same time, actively attract investment projects in high-tech agriculture associated with processing and preserving agricultural products. On the other hand, the locality needs to encourage and create favorable conditions for people to develop occupations, small-scale industries, services, and trade to gradually shift the economic and labor structure... From there, create a driving force for economic development in the mountainous commune of Phan Son.
