Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Ly Hong Huan, Deputy Director of the Department of Justice of Tay Ninh province, emphasized the role and significance of grassroots mediation work in current social life. According to the latest statistics, Tay Ninh province has a total of 1,539 mediation teams and 9,654 grassroots mediators. From July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2025, the mediation teams mediated 2,990 cases, of which 2,825 cases were successfully mediated, accounting for 94.42%.
With a high sense of responsibility, mediators across the province have mediated many conflicts and disputes in the community, thereby promptly resolving disagreements in villages and hamlets, preventing violations of the law; ensuring political security and social order and safety in the locality, maintaining village and neighborhood relationships, strengthening solidarity among the people; helping to reduce cases that have to be brought to court, saving time and money for state agencies and people.
However, mediation work at the grassroots level in the province still faces some difficulties such as: State management work is sometimes not unified and seamless due to changes in the commune judicial team due to the merger of commune levels; conditions for accessing legal information in some ethnic minority areas and border areas are still difficult; mediation skills as well as legal knowledge of the mediator team still have certain limitations...
For Tan Tap commune, the whole commune has 17 mediation teams with 108 mediators, the average annual successful mediation rate of Tan Tap commune is not high compared to the average successful mediation rate of the whole province. Therefore, implementing Decision No. 315/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister approving the Project "Improving the capacity of grassroots mediators in the period 2024-2030", Tay Ninh province has selected Tan Tap commune and Long Thuan commune as 02 commune-level units to lead the Central Government to improve legal knowledge and mediation skills for grassroots mediators, thereby creating a positive change in mediation work at the grassroots level, increasing the successful mediation rate in the coming time.

Listen to some grassroots mediation skills such as the process of conducting a grassroots mediation session, skills in preparing to organize a grassroots mediation session; skills in recording mediation, how to make a record of successful or unsuccessful mediation, the process of recognizing successful mediation results outside of court; things that mediators need to pay attention to during the mediation process and monitor the implementation of the mediation agreement by the parties.
Many problems arising from grassroots mediation practices in the fields of civil affairs, inheritance, marriage and family, compensation for damage caused by pets, etc. have been answered and resolved, helping mediators gain deeper legal knowledge and better understand the causes of conflicts and disputes in life, thereby having solutions and skills for successful mediation.
