Focus on completing 3,000 km of expressway by 2025

At the meeting to deploy tasks of the Construction sector in the last 6 months of 2025, Deputy Minister Nguyen Danh Huy said that one of the key tasks of the sector in the last 6 months of the year is to complete 3,000 km of expressway according to the target set by the Government.

According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Danh Huy, seriously and resolutely implementing the Prime Minister's direction, the Ministry of Construction has fully compiled the content, closely monitored, pointed out difficulties and obstacles, and fully participated in 7 inspection teams to review and remove difficulties and obstacles related to key transport projects headed by the Government leader.

In addition, the Ministry has fully deployed the contents after the inspection and working sessions with units, investors, contractors... and requested agencies, units, investors/transportation project management boards to clearly identify existing problems and obstacles and propose effective solutions to remove them on the principle of "clear people, clear work, clear progress, clear results, clear responsibilities" to complete the target of 3,000 km of expressway in 2025.

In the first 6 months of the year, the Ministry of Construction completed investment procedures to start construction of 6 projects, inaugurate and put into operation 3 projects; technically open 3 projects; and close 1 large bridge.

Notably, the Ministry of Construction has started 5 road projects including: Upgrading and expanding a number of bridges and tunnels on National Highway 1; expanding the Cao Bo - Mai Son section of the expressway; investing in the route connecting Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway with Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway; National Highway (QL) 46 section Vinh City - Nam Dan Town; expanding the North - South expressway section La Son - Hoa Lien); at the same time completing and putting into operation 2 projects to renovate weak bridges and connect on national highways; 70/83 km of the Van Phong - Nha Trang section), exploiting the main route of 3 projects: Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang, Bung - Van Ninh, and closing Rach Mieu 2 bridge on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification.

Regarding railway projects, the Ministry has started the Cam Ly Railway Bridge project at Km24+134 of the Kep - Ha Long railway line; resolved procedures related to the implementation of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway projects, the North-South high-speed railway such as approving project management consulting costs, document translation costs, etc.

Regarding aviation projects, up to now, the T3 Terminal Project - Tan Son Nhat International Airport has been completed and put into use on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification; the Long Thanh International Airport Project (Phase 1) meets the progress according to the plan approved by the Government.

Particularly for maritime and inland waterway projects, the Ministry regularly monitors and urges the progress of the implementation of the Quy Nhon channel renovation and upgrade project for 50,000 DWT ships, the Cai Mep - Thi Vai channel upgrade project from buoy number "0" to Cai Mep container port area, the project to increase clearance of road bridges crossing the National inland waterway... all projects meet the schedule, ensuring the plan to complete and put into use in 2025.

To ensure that the disbursement rate of public investment capital in 2025 reaches the target of over 100% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister of VND 87,794 billion, from the beginning of 2025, the Ministry of Construction has actively implemented with high determination to accelerate the disbursement progress of the State budget investment plan, completing the allocation of the entire capital plan assigned to investors. The disbursement results are estimated to be up to the end of May 2025, the Ministry has disbursed about VND 17,613 billion (reaching about 21.18% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister).
