Focus on completing the project to repair and upgrade Quang Ngai General Hospital

On the afternoon of October 7, inspecting the project to repair and upgrade Quang Ngai General Hospital, Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang requested to speed up the construction progress, soon complete and put into use, meeting the people's expectations of having a better place for medical examination and treatment.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province Nguyen Hoang Giang listened to the investor report on the progress of the project to repair and upgrade Quang Ngai General Hospital.

According to the Director of the Project Management Board for Investment in Construction of Civil and Industrial Works of Quang Ngai Province, Vo Thanh Trung (project investor), in order to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment for the people, from the local budget, Quang Ngai Province invested 350 billion VND to repair and upgrade the Provincial General Hospital, the Provincial Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, the Provincial Tuberculosis and Lung Disease Hospital, the Provincial Mental Hospital, the Dang Thuy Tram Regional General Hospital and a number of medical centers...

The project to repair and upgrade Quang Ngai General Hospital alone has a total cost of 150 billion VND, of which construction and equipment cost 70 billion VND and medical equipment cost 80 billion VND.

Up to this point, at unit 1 (3-storey building block in the south), the contractors have completed construction and are conducting industrial cleaning; expected to be handed over to the hospital for operation on October 10.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province Nguyen Hoang Giang inspected the emergency room of Quang Ngai General Hospital, which was completed and put into operation on September 30.

For unit 2 (8-storey building), including the emergency area, construction has been completed and handed over to the hospital for operation since September 30.

The inpatient treatment area (6th, 7th, 8th floors of the southern block) has been completed and is in the process of installing an automatic fire suppression system and a fire alarm system. It is expected to be completed and handed over to the hospital on October 15.

The inpatient treatment area (4th and 5th floors of the southern block) is being coordinated with the hospital to take inventory and hand over the premises. The outdoor water supply and drainage system items; the gate fence are being constructed according to plan.

Medical equipment section has put into operation some equipment such as: cardiovascular ultrasound machine, 128-slice/rotation CT Scanner system.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province Nguyen Hoang Giang inspected the departments and specialized rooms of Quang Ngai General Hospital which are being repaired and upgraded.

“For the disbursement of investment in repairing and upgrading hospitals and medical centers, 149.5 billion VND will be allocated in 2025. To date, 149.5 billion VND has been disbursed, reaching 100% of the assigned capital plan. The investor proposed that the Provincial People's Committee add about 61 billion VND in 2025 to pay for completed volume,” Vo Thanh Trung, Director of the Quang Ngai Province Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board, proposed.

After listening to the progress report of the project to repair and upgrade Quang Ngai General Hospital and inspecting the site, Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang highly appreciated the investor for proactively coordinating closely with departments, branches, hospitals and contractors to implement the construction to ensure progress and requirements.

He noted that the construction, repair and upgrading while receiving patients should go hand in hand with the requirement to ensure the quality of the project, requiring contractors to pay special attention to labor safety, environmental sanitation, and avoid causing dust and smoke pollution to patients being treated at the hospital.

“The repair and upgrading of Quang Ngai General Hospital must meet the purposes and functions of the medical sector, especially the specialized departments and rooms must ensure the improvement of the quality of medical examination and treatment for the people. At the same time, taking advantage of favorable weather, focusing on speeding up the construction progress, completing and putting into use soon to meet the expectations of the people in the province to have a better place for medical examination and treatment, helping the province speed up the disbursement of public investment capital”, Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang requested.
