(QBĐT) - On June 13, information from the Provincial Border Guard Command (BGB) said that a collision at sea between the Viet Trung 68 cargo ship and a fishing boat of fishermen from Bao Ninh commune (Dong Hoi city) had just occurred, causing severe damage to the fishing boat.
Previously, at 11:00 p.m. on June 12, the Provincial Border Guard Command received information from fisherman Ho Trung Hieu (born in 1991, residing in Bao Ninh commune, Dong Hoi city), owner and captain of fishing boat QB-91886-TS, reporting: At 10:45 p.m. the same day, in the sea area about 40 nautical miles northeast of Nhat Le estuary, boat QB-91886-TS was suddenly collided with cargo ship Viet Trung 68, which was traveling in the North-South direction.

As a result, the QB-91886-TS ship's bow broke, water flooded in and nearly sank. At the time of the incident, the 8 fishermen on board promptly put on life jackets and called on ships operating near the area of the ship in distress to come to their aid.
After receiving the signal, ship QB-91378-TS captained by Mr. Truong Vu Linh (also residing in Bao Ninh commune) quickly arrived, rescued 8 crew members of the ship in distress and together with ship Viet Trung 68 towed ship QB-91886-TS into Nhat Le estuary.
The Provincial Border Guard Command has directed Nhat Le Border Guard Station to mobilize 1 boat and 5 officers to support and handle the incident; at the same time, notify the Quang Binh Maritime Port Authority to get information to coordinate and handle the case.
It is known that the QB-91886-TS boat of fisherman Ho Trung Hieu specializes in catching crabs at sea. Mr. Hieu's boat and crew members left Nhat Le port at 3:00 p.m. on June 12. After the collision, the fishing boat owner requested the Border Guard Command to coordinate with relevant forces to assist in clarifying the cause and handling it according to wishes and regulations of the law.
