Tay Ninh completes the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses by 2025

By April 29, 2025, Tay Ninh province had completed the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households, near-poor households according to central standards and poor households according to provincial poverty standards.

Implementing the Project on repairing and building houses for poor households, near-poor households according to the Central standards and poor households according to the provincial poverty standards in Tay Ninh province in 2025, the province has established a Steering Committee to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses; reviewing poor households, near-poor households according to the Central standards and poor households according to the provincial poverty standards that are facing housing difficulties.

Accordingly, the need for support in building and repairing houses for poor households, near-poor households and poor households according to the province's poverty standards in 2025 is 525 houses. (412 new houses built, 113 houses repaired) with a total cost of 41.6 billion VND (of which, the budget supports more than 11 billion VND, mobilized resources more than 30.5 billion VND) ; there are 288 households without land.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and Mr. Vo Duc Trong - Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the locality presented houses to people at the concentrated great unity house area, Long Thanh Nam ward, Hoa Thanh town.

To realize the Project, on December 26, 2024, the province held a launching ceremony for the emulation movement "Eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Tay Ninh province by 2025". The total fund mobilized by April 15, 2025 was more than 37.6 billion VND with 177 units and individuals supporting.

The results of using funds to support the construction and repair of houses for poor households, near-poor households and poor households according to the province's poverty standards in 2025 are more than 42.2 billion VND.

The implementation budget is higher than the Project's budget due to family contributions and additional local funding support, including: from the 5% savings on regular expenditure in 2024, nearly 10 billion VND; from local funding mobilized by itself (Provincial and District Funds for the Poor) about 30.8 billion VND; household contributions of more than 1.3 billion VND; 881 working days mobilized.

In addition, Tay Ninh mobilized Fico Tay Ninh Cement Joint Stock Company to support each house with 100 bags of cement (worth 8.5 million VND) to build and repair and support each household with 1 TV (worth 3 million VND).

Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh - Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented gifts to poor households who were able to build solidarity houses at the concentrated solidarity house area, Dong Khoi commune, Chau Thanh district.

After 4 months since the Project was approved, by April 29, 2025, Tay Ninh has completed the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses. 525 temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households, near-poor households according to the Central standard and poor households according to the provincial poverty standard have been supported to build and repair, contributing to bringing a more stable and safer life to people, especially during the rainy and stormy season.
