Over the past 2 months, Thuy Linh has actively participated in many tournaments. And she has achieved good results, accumulating many points.
In the most recent tournament, the Canada Open, a Super 300 level tournament, Thuy Linh reached the final and won the silver medal. In this tournament alone, she was awarded 5,950 points. Previously in March, she also achieved the runner-up achievement at the German Open - a Super 300 tournament.
Thanks to that, Thuy Linh's total accumulated points up to now are 49,550 points. In the world women's singles rankings just updated on July 22, she has risen to 18th place.
This is the highest ranking ever for the 1997-born player, and also the highest in the history of Vietnamese women's badminton. Previously, her best achievement was world No. 20, set in 2023.
After her success at the Canada Open, Thuy Linh shared that she "needed to rest". Perhaps that was the reason why she did not participate in the two most recent tournaments, the Japan Open and the China Open, two tournaments of the Super 1000 level.
Thuy Linh is likely to return to competition at the end of August, when the World Badminton Championship takes place in France. Then in September, the Vietnamese badminton hot girl will likely participate in the Vietnam Open, a playground where she has won for 3 consecutive years.
However, this tournament is only at Super 100 level, so the accumulated points are not too much.
