The program aims to sponsor the planting of 50,000 large timber trees to help prevent erosion and landslides while creating sustainable livelihoods for people in Thuong Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province. The program calls for the cooperation and contribution of the community as well as thousands of ABBANK employees and customers through creative and effective fundraising and message dissemination methods.
Specifically, ABBANK commits to sponsor 01 large tree (Lim, Hue) to the tree planting fund "Green An Binh - Green Vietnam" for each payment account, savings account, credit card opened by customers at the branch or on the AB Ditizen application during the fundraising period. The community and relatives of nearly 4,000 bank employees can also join hands to "contribute trees", spread the message to contribute to raising awareness about afforestation and forest protection with just one click "I participate" on the program website. The fundraising campaign will last from January 29, 2024 to March 31, 2024 or until the target number of 50,000 trees is reached (whichever comes first).

This 2024 Tet, ABBANK's Green An Binh - Green Vietnam project aims to plant 50,000 large trees and give 50 Tet gifts to poor households in Quang Binh province.
At the program launching ceremony held in Thuong Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province with the participation of representatives of the Center for Natural Resources and Environment Communication, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, local leaders and volunteers who are ABBANK staff, the program presented 50 Tet gifts including cash and necessities to 50 households in particularly difficult circumstances in the locality. The entire cost of Tet gifts was donated by ABBANK staff.

Mr. Pham Duy Hieu - Acting General Director of ABBANK shared: “ As a warm tradition at ABBANK every spring, Tet An Binh has become an extremely meaningful annual volunteer activity for ABBANKers and the community. In this 15th year of implementation, we launched a fundraising and dissemination initiative to inspire and promote the spirit of “joining hands”, contributing, and sharing among the community, customers as well as nearly 4,000 employees nationwide. We believe that the program will achieve the goal of raising 50,000 trees, contributing to supporting livelihoods, reducing poverty, and raising awareness about planting and protecting forests for local people.”
Thuong Trach Commune is a particularly difficult highland border commune of Quang Binh Province. The commune is located about 85km from the center of Bo Trach District, with mountainous terrain, difficult transportation, and no electricity grid (currently using solar power and generator power). 100% of the ethnic minorities are mainly Bru - Van Kieu people, of which more than 65% are poor households. A part of the ethnic minorities still have many limitations in awareness, and socio -economic conditions are still difficult, mainly relying on cultivation and livestock.

50,000 trees (Lim, Hue) planted will help prevent erosion and landslides in the rainy season; at the same time, create livelihoods for people to sustainably reduce poverty through developing the forest economy on 72,703.44 hectares of natural forest in the province. The program is part of an effort to respond to the call of the local government: Towards forestry development by combining afforestation with land and forest allocation to each household.

Lim and Hue (Red Dalbergia) trees are large native wood species, among the tree species encouraged by the locality to be planted to develop the forestry economy.
